I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

The previous record held for over 22 Years. Congrats Bill Cook.

Wow. Great fish. I hope to catch one half that size on my trip there next week.

Is that since January?

I seen something posted on facebook that its 19 total so far.

Sure would love to catch a fat DD and enter the TBLP. Statistically its that time of year. Put some time in today on the big pond all short fish no DD's LOL.

Wouldn't surprise me

What cracks me up is a lot of guys still saying the lake is dying.

Good. They should go try oh ivie, rayburn, miller's lake. I hear they're really catching em there.

I agree there will be more pressure but out of those who normally don't fish those lake how successful do you think they be?

Take Toledo Bend, the daily limit is 8 bass with a 14" minimum. How many people you know can catch a limit every day?

A5 what's the water temperatures like in your area?

Not sure right now, I'm at work till friday.

But if I had to put a WAG on it. I'd say mid day to 3 pm back cove areas of 1 to 3 foot depth range where in the 48 to 52 degrees temp range today.

I'm planning on fishing this weekend and will provide a more accurate temp this weekend.

Watching her bite an A-rig on FFS.  Another million units sold LOL

Bassmasters on Okeechobee this week. There are a few anglers from this area that are in the Elites.  Can someone bust 100 pounds on Okeechobee ?

Water level  171.82

stained 50-56 degrees

Water temperature at the dam is 50 degrees.

North of the three-mile Pendleton Bridge temperatures have been running 50-56 degrees.

There has been a lot of rain and runoff entering the lake. The back feeder creeks are muddy and flowing. The main lake is stained and clearing. .

The bass are starting to move into their staging areas at the mouth of creeks, ditches, and drains.

Heading to the bend tomorrow for 5 days.  We are staying in Patroon Creek.  I have very little experience on the lake and I'm very appreciative for all of the great information I've read on this forum.  Any area tips or bait suggestions would be appreciated.  If you see a blue and white dual console Hanko hull with Mercury 225 Optimax on the back stop and say hi.

If anyone wants to join my son and I in my boat let me know.  I'll be there Saturday afternoon until Wed morning.  I'm willing to trailer to any part of the lake as well.

Thanks again.

Appreciate the offer. A5 and Catt have more experience than me so I'd listen to them. I would pay attention to water clarity and temp. Patroon and the back of most creeks will probably be pretty stained so I'd fish more toward the main lake. Good luck!

Water is clearing up and warming up.

See that temp?

Yall know what time it is?

Its bass smashing time fellas.

Bass tracker is in the water and we bout to go find them.

I fished today for about 4 hours and didn't get a bite. Water temp was 57 and the water was slightly stained around the big bass marina cove.

Fished all morning around the blue lake area and caught 1 bass around 3 lbs on a chatter bait fishing bushes and missed one on a crank bait. Took a break for lunch and fished all afternoon and my son caught one bass around 3 lbs on a trig zoom speed draw fishing a bank with hay grass in the Patroon area not far from Holly Park Marina.

Any suggestions for tomorrow with a forecasted 10-20 mph SW wind?

Our rental cabin is in Patroon.
