Had 30lbs today and my dad had 14lbs in our club tournament. Our best 5 combined was 33lbs. I had 3 fish between 7- 10lbs jump off. My big fish i caught was 9.5lbs.  Lots of tournaments coming up, but

  • Well two days in & only 3 fish ?   But one was tagged BassCashBash which I was registered in, it won me a 2019 Dodge Ram!

I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

Toledo Bend is showing out, four 9lb+ fish already.    Some dude talking about losing a 14lber ?

Ben Milliken almost got that 30lb bag, he certainly seems to be the real deal.

He used a C25 I'm pretty sure, I bet he was deep cranking for post spawners.

For those of yall who might be wondering how I came up with the weight needed to win.

I used a very secret and sophisticated mathematical formula known as WAG lol.

Lakes in great shape with fish in all spawn conditions and the right water depth and weather conditions to turn up some huge bags.

Catt what do u make of the top 3 nonboaters weighing 5 pound average fish? Better fish are deeper than most think?

@LovestoFish I ain't heard who is catching what where!

How ya think "team" tournaments work? The team member in the back seat can be considered a non-boater. The difference is the top 5 of both anglers is weighed in.

IDK if I would bet money on that!

Of the top 3 nonboater weights, only 1 of the boaters, Milliken caught em good. Other 2 boaters caught less than 12 lbs.

I wouldn't bet either. Just curious what u thought

I prefer fishing team tournaments for the simple reason one of us will be on!

I've never understood how guys can fish together & not fish as a "team"!

Name any "stick" on Toledo Bend & I will bet you $100 they have an outstanding partner. That's how you go from 30# sacks to 35-40# sacks.

Rant over ?

No way brother, another thread was started on Ben and the Bend.

Yesterday the lake wasn't as hot as the first, but they are coming out with guns a blazing this morning.  Dudes picking up 4 and 5 fish in the first cpl. hours.

Really, really hope to see a DD come across the stage.

No we're watching! That's y it's called a guess ?. I think most fisherman would've guessed 60 r lighter.

Not sure I like seeing this...more attention means more...

U got a report for us disco?

Not a great one unfortunately. Boat didn't catch any above 5# that we could tell, I boated two fish all day. I missed about 8 fish on a dropshot, as far as I could tell they were just tiny spotties playing with the tail. I'm about 99% sure we were fishing on the backside of an eastbound low pressure shortwave which would explain the lockjaw and congregation to 30+ FOW. Didn't see any bass shallower than 10 FOW. I had hoped for significantly better but that's fishin - somewhere between casting and catching. Guide did his best, d**n good with his sonar but locating them is only part of the equation. I know that we would have done significantly better with a different barometric setup. To be on the back side of a system like that and still catch as many as we did was admirable.

Is the lake still there?

Hope so. Taking my new camping rig to the north state park Monday for an overnight. Plan to do a little bank fishin' while I'm there.
