Y'all keeping up with the fires?

Pirate's Cove area hit real hard. I heard one over around Fairmont.

Heading up to TB tomorrow for a few days.  Anyone been out there recently and know where there is some good grass?  I heard Housen has a bunch and that there is some around 1215/blue lake.  I'm staying on San Miguel, I'll run to Housen if the wind allows, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other areas that are holding a good bit of grass?

6-Mile 😉

I too can verify that 6 Mile Creek has plenty of grass. Housen has a good bit also.

Spent a few days at the camp last week. Made a 2 hour trip out after lunch on Monday after the weather warmed up. I caught 8 with the biggest around 2.75 and the others anywhere from 10-15" long. All caught in 14-20 fow on carolina rigged flukes in San Miguel. Surprisingly there was just a light breeze and beautiful weather. After those 29 and 31 degree mornings, the sunny 65 degrees felt great. It's getting to be the time for those big girls to show up. Water temp was upper 50's.

My family and I have our second trip to Toledo Bend planned for Feb 9-14th.  I would appreciate any tips or advice on where to start since this lake is so large and diverse.  We are staying just N of the Pendleton Bridge fairly close to Holly Park Marina, but I have no issue traveling to any part of the lake.  We were there last year and had a great time and caught a few fish.

I have a 22' Hanko dual console aluminum hull with a 250 so I don't mind making long runs as long as the wind is reasonable.

Thanks in advance.

Back of Patroon is a good place to start, check out Corsey Creek. On the Louisiana side is 1215 area & Bayou LA Nana.

Keep an eye on the lake level which is at 168.21. It needs to be around 170+

Bump, I've never been more excited for a BASS derby than the upcoming Elite Series stop.....it's gonna be epic, century belts and few DDs is my prediction.

Caney Lake is also going gang busters right now, a pair of college age dudes pulled a 45 and 50lb+ bag a week or two ago on it.

Great time to be a LA Bass angler.

Fishing straight up Catt Style.......a jig in 12fow IIrc 😎

They were on them apparently the day before so well that they had a social media guy come film for that particular bag, so hopefully the footage comes out.

It's mind boggling how young this sport is getting, I was obsessed with fishing at their ages, but 50lb bags weren't even in my dreams or vocab.   Just amazing!

@AlabamaSpothunter Just wait, the Big Pond is ready to break loose!

Hopefully they don't pull all the water back out from this rain.

Side note I love this site but good God, it was almost a act of congress to get back into my account. Was just going to make a new one but spent almost 39 mints and it never would except my answer to the security question. Thank God I remembered my old name and email account.

@A5BLASTER y'all getting a lot of rain?

Was a steady off and on rain for most of the day yesterday, then last night a couple of times it got down right nasty, so far today it's been a steady light rain.

Lake is up several inches since daylight yesterday morning.

Chocolate milk already but glad to see the water on the rise.
