RonnieF
Really sad event. The mother that died had just retired. A friend of mine was good friends with her. At my place on San Miguel, it was thundering 15-30 minutes prior to the high winds. Prayers for all involved. BTW, I have no fishing report. Tore my bicep tendon and had surgery 4/25 to repair. So, I'll be reportless for a bit.

Back to Front
Very sad. Be careful out there boys, no fish is worth your life. I have a 22 ft bay boat and I also fish inshore along the gulf and I've never seen waves like in Toledo Bend. I have been in some bad situations on TB. I tried to outrun a storm and didn't make it, sometimes it's better to just find a small cove and ride it out. It seems like a seasoned guide would know better but I don't know any of the details.
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted May 30 Super User Share Posted May 30 That's horrific! I got caught in a massive storm night fishing a few weeks ago, I had to hunker down under a boat dock roof and prayed for about two hours, boat almost sank, and I've never seen so much lightning. It ruined about $300 worth of electronic equipment but I'm hear posting about it. Tater Reynolds is quite well known, he seems to win lots of local derbies on TB and other lakes down there. Prayers for the family, and for Tater.....this will likely weigh on his conscious the rest of his life. Very sad.

RockNReelN
That looks like a powerful Tornado. Thankfully no one was injured.
RockNReelN
The Holley Park Tornado was reported as an EF1 on a local news station. Eye opener for me. https://www.ktre.com/video/2024/07/11/national-weather-service-confirms-additional-four-tornadoes-east-texas-hurricane-beryl/ EF Scale https://www.weather.gov/oun/efscale
Super User casts_by_fly Posted July 11 Super User Share Posted July 11 A spinoff from Beryl got up to southern Indiana. In the article where it says 'warehouse' that's our warehouse. Work is a little busy right now. EF3 300 yards wide which is approximately how wide the warehouse used to be. https://www.wlwt.com/article/tornados-indiana-mt-vernon-damage-ef3/61573577#:~:text=The remnants of Hurricane Beryl,of Posey County grew to
Corkpuller
Hey fellas, I have a CAMP for SALE in Lowes Creek Campground. Older single wide mobile home (12x50) with covered porch. Wood framed metal roof built over trailer. 2BR, 1 bath. Window A/C unit in living and one bedroom. Propane heat in living room. Refrigerator, microwave, utensils, dishes, few pots and pans. Kitchen table and chairs. Recliner, good recliner! Small cheapo desk. Couple shelving units. TV stand, wired for SAT TV. Full size bed in one bedroom. 10x10 shed with washer and dryer, small workbench and a lot of shelf space. 12x26 boat shed with electrical. Full side walls, open ends. I've owned this Camp for 18 years. Probably the best spot in the campground. See the ramp from the porch. Since retiring we've built a new home close by and have finally moved in. Priced way more than fair for what it is. I would say the metal roof sheeting could be replaced. You will have to pay rent to Lowes Creek Park owner and be approved by her to proceed. Rent gets ya water, sewer, trash dumpster use, free boat ramp use. also a full kitchen in Pavillion right next to our place. I pay my own electric, telephone/internet, and SAT TV. $10k ----- Serious buyers send me a PM. Tight lines,,,,

We might be tucking tail and heading up there tomorrow, depending on the next couple of Francine updates. I'm thinking my grass might be tall enough to hide a deer or two.
