Kinda rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided

1 week and counting. Lasalle opener!!!

Looks like me, farmpond, and another guy I work with are going to try our luck at Sangchris on Sunday.  I hope the rain can hold off till then.

wow what a pretty day today hopefully the rain and warm weather tomorrow will melt ALL the ice away!!! i checked a couple of my fishin holes today and it was a beautiful site OPEN WATER!!

I was able to go fishing at the pond behind my house and caught a bass the first cast, and another one maybe 5 casts after that!  Only ended up being out for about 30 minutes but was able to catch 5 bass...  I feel sooooo much better now! lol

Ok fellas need some help. I just moved here from Ohio. I live in homewood and i've don e my research on fishing in my are. However, i can't find any feedback on how the fishing is in any of these ponds/lakes. Any suggestion and help you can give me would be great. Gonna be bank beating it sold my boat to get my wife through law school. So looking for places that are good from shore.

If you are up to traveling a bit north, Lilly lake in Lakemore is a great for bank fishing, but it is catch n'release only for bass. Have gotten lots of 4 & 5lbers there. 8-)

Which lakes do you need info on?

I live alittle north of you in MT.Greenwood 111th kedzie, I fish all over the southern cook county lakes and with all this rain and mild temps I'll be going out early next week

I live in Homewood so i'm looking at southern cook and northern Will county. I fished the Izaak Walton preserve today and caught one on a rat L trap. It looks like these are the closest to me. Wampum lake, Sauk trail lake, Monee resevoir,  Tampier lake and all the lakes/ponds/slough around it, wolf lake, midlothian reservation, and of course the izaak walton preserve and homewood ponds.

NiNeR.

try Arrowhead its a good bass lake, kind of tough at times but has good size fish.

I'll prob. be there mon. or tue. late morning

anyone got any info on clinton lake?  If a guy had never been where might he start?  And mabe a couple bait choices, colors ect.

Zero limit maybe there is another arrowhead lake but when i google mapped it, it was 5 hours away i can't drive that far to fish unless its a weekend i have kids that need to be picked up from school.

The "bass-turd" finally comes out of storage next weekend hopefully!

Arrowhead is a ccfp lake 135th. st. just east of harlem

There is also turttlehead lake on harlem just south of 135th. st. both of these are nice bass lakes.

In burr oak park i found it....you going out there today?

I dont think Clinton is a very good bass lake, but I do very well on catfish.

My buddy had luck there once and he was jigging the points and rocky areas if that helps you at all...

Burr oak woods is on the eastside of harlem across the street from turttlehead(westside of harlem) . I am going to stop out there about 10:30 or 11:00 to check it out, might be alittle muddy from the rain, if so I'll go over to arrowhead.

If you see a chevy colorado silver thats me.

went there the water was high and i couldn't get to the back end of the pond. Went over to turtlehead and no luck.

I was at turtlehead today got 2, maybe 14 or 15 in.ers but I had a huge bass follow my trap 4x in to shore but no bite. Ill be back there tuesday late morning.

giving banner a try tomorrow. see if i can get a big girl to bite..... should be slooooow fishing im sure.

We tried Sangchris on Sunday with hardly any luck.  3 bass and a crappie...  The power plant wasnt pumping that day, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Lasalle opener! Fishing slower than normal, probably due to sun and no wind. Ended up with about 20-25 fish total. Most bass were in the 14-15" range Got 1 LM about 3lbs and 1 SMB about 3lbs. Fish were caught on rattle traps, senkos.

Made my way around several ccfp lakes yesterday, caught a couple small LMBs when at hosretail, also noticed alot of dead bass  and a couple trout washing up on shore, heading back to turtlehead with the kids this afternoon(spring break)

I'll put the kids on the crappie while I search for that monster bass

did everyone die? or is everyone out fishing :) ? unfortunately i have been working waaaay to much lately and have not been able to hit the water. now i got the weekend off and of course i wake up and it's 27 f-ing degrees...............
