Maryland's Who's who!

Only other option is the actual boat ramp inside the park which is in the back of the Cabin Branch arm...It would be about the same distance to Seneca.

You don't need to go far from the kayak launch point if you don't want to spend time paddling. Honestly, the main lake basin is generally the most reliable section of the lake from now through September. Heck, that little point that the kayak launch sits on holds fish year round ;).

If Logan (stratos20ss) gives tips on BH take it all in. He is an outstanding fisherman anywhere especially at BH. I want to be like him when I grow up! :)

He is the 2 time defending angler of the year in our club....

Thanks for the nice words Brian :).

Went to Loch Raven today and caught a new PB.  Scale said 5 pounds even.  Caught her on a 1/2 oz. chartreuse Booyah spinnerbait.  Also would have had a PB chain pickerel but he bit me off right before

I read that a boat went over the d**n this afternoon on Lake Linganore with 9 people on it.

Not much info - http://www.fredericknewspost.com/public/rescue-at-lake-linganore-dam-people-in-water/article_924be634-618c-5b12-85d1-ef2f10f7a851.html

Edit - 1 person did not survive.

Sad but true story....One adult(passed) and 8 teens (lived). Caught in the high current from the heavy rains over the weekend. Nobody is sure why they went to the dam side of the lake when they owner lived near the bridge. I think it is the 3rd death at Linganore in 10 years.

The pontoon is still stuck in the rocks of the bottom of the dam and will likely be there for awhile.

I am from Howard County, Maryland, and mainly fish Wilde Lake and Lake Elkhorn.

My times are really variable. I was planning on going tomorrow, but if it is still raining....

Wooty woot!  HoCo anglers.   Jtrout, I think I've already ran into you a handful of times already at Elk.  Jackall Giron ring a bell?  I flipped that thing like a 10.0 high dive next to thick as patch of hydrilla.  You've got a Cardiff that your running for a swimbait setup, right?

Anantha, Elk is my go to lake of the four Columbia Lakes, if you want to sometime, I can share some spots with you; ones for catching numbers, and other spots for the 3+ poundies.

Made it out froggin for a little while yesterday morning. Managed 2, pound/pound and a half'ers out of the canal at Dickerson. Duckweed was so thick, I could float a soft plastic with a 3/16oz bullet weight. LOL!

Awesome sauce, broham.  I'll see you out there again. Tight lines!

Had some lower potomac action last week. Boated about 7 all around the same size as the picture. Couple on a speed craw and a couple on a vibrating jig.

I wish my portion of the Potomac held decent sized fish. It's an 8" dink fest around here.

What part is that?

I'm in Cumberland. We float it pretty often in the Oldtown area near where north and south merge together.

Nate is just that good at catching the lunkers everywhere he goes!

So I caught my largest of the year yesterday which happened to my B-day. Only Bass I caught and it was on 1.5" Bill Lewis Ratl Trap. Just about 22". Weighed 5lb 7oz on my new scale. (About time I got one)

Anyone here catch a snakehead before in MD? I fished all over the state, yet never even seen one.

Just saw my first one last week in a feeder branch going to the Choptank. Didn't catch one though.

Not myself, but I have seen photos of some caught in Savage.  Also the Anacostia stretch (Bladensburg Waterfront Park in particular) on an outgoing tide will give you a good chance at catching some.  I've been trying to go Rambo on some this year, but still goose-egged.  It's not entirely a waste of time though as I've seen pics and  including some from Bladensburg where DNR themselves are doing the chopping.

Nice fish! You can go hours if not days without catching anything or just ( bank runners ) and one fish like that can light that fire.

The Choptank is nice. You catch a lot of croaker there, and put them into the ice to cook.

Savage? As in Laurel? I lived there before I moved. Fished the Patuxent, but no snakeheads. Guess that's good.

Yeah snakeheads are in laurel! I work with a guy who caught one there about two weeks ago.

Alright.  Now it's time to go Rambo on a bish.

Seems like July is always the best month fishing for me. Caught this yesterday in one of the creeks that feeds into Linganore. 20150717_175754_zpsfarijhrv.jpg

I am still trying to find the smallmouth on the lake but that may not happen until I have a boat/kayak...

Hit up Lake Allen this morning and managed to pull a few nice ones out despite the lake is pretty much covered with lilly pads entirely.   Between the two of us we caught about 8 very nice sized LM.   Saw an absolute toad just off the fishing dock, probably the biggest bass I have ever seen in person, we both threw everything we had at it and he just shrugged it off and moved on.
