Went to Loch Raven today and caught a new PB.  Scale said 5 pounds even.  Caught her on a 1/2 oz. chartreuse Booyah spinnerbait.  Also would have had a PB chain pickerel but he bit me off right before

Definitely looking forward for some fishing action when the warm rain comes rolling in later this week.

Went today at a local river caught 6 fall fish lol biggest was bout 14 inches better than being skunked

Took out my buddy's boat after work this eve to hit some musky holes. They turned out to be empty for now. Headed to Anna on Saturday to hopefully hook into a couple fat largemouth.

Nastynate, may see you down at Anna. Going down for the weekend (Friday thru Sunday). Will probably end up spending some time looking for stripers while down there.

The part I do not get is how will it be enforced, and how much would that enforcement cost? Is the lower cost something to get it pushed thru then in a year try to raise it/

You are probably right about the lower cost. They are probably going to set up tolls at some of the major entrances to the canal, and have park rangers patrol the area to fine anyone who doesn't have a pass. Sets up the infrastructure for even more tolls! I am sure they couldn't get the money from any other sources! those poor people reaping the overhead costs, might have to get a BMW instead of a Mercedes otherwise.   :lol-045:

Since its going to be in the mid 40s this weekend Im thinking about hitting dickerson. Any idea where i can get live minnows in frederick?

Let's talk Dickerson warm water discharge.  I read all over the interwebs how great this place is in winter.  I've tried a few times this winter when temp has been in the mid 40's. Sometimes the stacks were producing smoke, sometimes not.  I have not caught anything.  I've tried the entire discharge area with grubs, 2 1/2" tubes, small crank baits.

I believe it's going to be in the mid 40's on Sat so I'm going to try again.  I'm looking for any tips for catching smallies down there.  I'm going to grab some night crawlers this time.

The water temperature changed, when they switched management of the plant. Its not as good as it used to be. I have tried multiple times during the winter last year, but I have caught none.

I haven't done well there the last few times, does not seem like they are flowing warm water at all. Without it the place is a barren, I am sure the canal is frozen solid so no point in that.

One caveat though, its barren of smallies when not flowing heated water but there usually is a pretty good bite for catfish no matter what.

When they are pumping warn water, the river level needs to be high enough so the cold river water mixes (right up at the upper end) in to boost the O2 levels are high enough to hold bass. For me, I track the Hancock river gauge and like to see it in the 4-6' range for my successful outings.

Now that my future fishing partner was born last night, I will be able to get a few outings in.

1 ski a LONG time ago (didn't land it either) and an occasional walleye.

And thanks!

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a kayak this spring to get out on the water. Any recommendations? I'd probably prefer a sit-on but Im not set on that, if you can stand up and fish that would be even better. Looking to spend under 600. Just for reference I'm 6' 200.
