I went ice fishing in my drive way today. The ice was thin and the concrete was very hard. I used a jig...mostly. Nothing was biting, so I went over to my neighbors drive way and fished there a while. I didn't catch anything there either, but I hung a jig on a bush and lost it.

Guess I'll have to give it a go this weekend again and see if I can show you that it's possible to catch something this time of year! I've done it before, just have to see if I can remember how to do it again!!! It's been waaaaaaay too long since I've caught a bass!!! Need to find my mojo again!!!  :-[

Now that I have my license and rods spooled I am dying to get out. No idea when it may happen though.....

Lee.MD, there are a couple heated water areas in our area. One has some good smallie action when they are pumping the heated water.

Lee.MD, you can print your fishing license online. I was able to get VA, DC and MD all online this year.

The real sad part is, he's so quirky that he won't let anyone fish that pond outside of like a 2-3 month window which is WELL after the spawn is over. So the pics that MskSlyr has posted before aren't anywhere near their full potential during the prespawn. I'll let you know if he can extend the invite outside the few the land owner allows now.

I'm in Northern VA, so I typically post on the Southeast forum, but I was hoping someone might have a little info on that "hotspot" on the upper Potomac we know so well. I'm not new to the place, but haven't been there in 2 yrs, so I was wondering...

1) anyone been lately? How are conditions?

2) last time I was there, bank fishing was hard because the ground was so soft you "sunk" due to recent rains. I no longer have my waders, so I'm shorebound. Is it manageable right now?

Wayne, you can go with me to that spot we hit last time. In March right after ice out as I cannot find a partner? Everyone seems to b**ch out because of the cold. My current 5 fish record is 22lbs 3oz for that place with March being the best time for big fish.
