2nd annual BR.com roadtrip!!!

I was just wondering how many Share Lunkers a live well will hold? If you can only keep three or four at a time, will the Texas DNR come out to pick them up on the boat or will we have to go back to the dock for lunch?

Many of us will have cell phones.  Appx twice a day, I'll make a lap around the pond and collect the sharelunkers and bring to a BR holding tank.  We can have DNR meet us there with the truck each night before or after dinner and let them empty it so we will have room for the next day.

In order to save on office supplies(paper), each angler will recieve 1 award at the end of the week with the weights of all entered sharelunkers instead of 1 certificate per fish.

;)

A free replica come with each fish also, so you can spend that money you where planning on using on the replica on beer and other needed accessories.

Beer is not sold in the local stores, its a dry county, so either call ahead and I deliver or make other arrangements.

What happens on Fork stays on Fork,   wait, nope, thats Vegas, my bust.

Matt.

You guys are killing me.  Wish I had some vacation time,  I'd show you guys how to catck 10" bass like no one else can.  I've been to fork before and need redemption of that 1 bite weekend.  Sorry feller's I cant do it.  SOunds like a blast though.

Matt do you deliver beer to MO.  Anheiser Bush makes a beer down there that is only made in TX.  I'd really like to try it.  I can PM you my address if you would like.  I will even go to the extent of sending mapquest directions. ;D

Russ, correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the beans and potatoe salad coming from Mo last year that didn't make the trip.

This year, the beans potatoe salad and anything else is coming with me and my brisket.

Advice to RW,   quit using your livewell as a spare cooler and you could hold more fish.

That ones toughie for RW, less beer for bigger fish.    Any takers on odds of less beer?   LOL, just funning with ya.

Russ, the baby sitter is still here and I don't see her leaving anytime soon.

Maybe one of my best catches of all time.    And its Glenn's forum who is responsible for her finding me.

Hookem

Matt.

Well, if you guys are needing some food brought in from Missouri I'll bring some possum that will pin your ears back.  Too bad Ouachitabassangler Jim isn't still here.  He'd turn us all on to some muskrat.  Mmm . . .Mmm.. 8-)

Count me in this year! Haven't fished Fork in several years so it will be nice to get back there. I just checked with the wife and she said, "that's 6 months notice, sure, you can go... better start saving your allowance!" ...lol

Roadwarrior-

My livewell will hold 4 sharelunkers for sure and I have a seperate built in cooler. ;)

You Texans better watch out, the yankees are a comin.

On a serious note though,  I look forward to meeting all the mods, and Glenn, as well as the other members who make the journey.  I've already set out a budget per month just to make it to the event.  I can't wait to fish in the south.  I will actually have the chance to catch a double digit  toad.

What are the temps like in Texas in March?  In Pa the temps are still in the 40's and low 50's on average.  I am thinking of maybe getting a spot at a campground but not if it is too cold.  Unless I can find a couple others to share the expense of a room with.  Any takers?

That is too nice of you to deliver beer, and food Matt.  What a nice guy.  Maybe I'll bring some Pa beer for you guys to try out.

Awesome!!!!!  If I don't have a job lined up by Jan, then I am going back to school for one more semester and one more major. ::)

My spring break is the 16th through 25th if I go back to school.

They can be pretty extreme.  When I was down there 2 years ago (4 days)  the temps were in the low 80's/high 70's for three days and the other it probably didn't touch 50.  Mornings are generally pretty cool regardless.

Sounds fun! I'll be weighing my options this week. Hopefully we can attack this place from the North, East, and West!

Don't forget about Raul, he will be attacking from the south. ;D

Russ, is this trip open to amateurs like me, who owns exactly one spinning setup and one baitcasting set up? How do we handle the boat rentals? Do we pair up? Seems a guy could learn an awful lot on a trip like this.

OK yankees, here's the deal. The Alpster RV (26' motor home) will pull out of Eastern NJ early on 3/16/07. The route is Penn. Tnpk I-76 west to I-70 thru Columbus OH South on I-71 thru Cincinnati, OH Thru Louisville, KY on I-65 South to Nashville, I-40 West thru Memphis to Little Rock, I-30 west to Lake Fork area arriving some time on 3/18/07. Will leave early on Friday 3/23/07 reversing the above route. The RV is very comfortable, has 3 beds (4 with an air bed on the floor), heat & air, but no shower (every place we will stay will have one). There is an RV park at the same location as the Fisherman's Cove Marina. I will have to get details about camping, prices, etc. I am willing to share travel expenses and accomodations with anyone who want's to go who lives along the route. This will work out to approximately $400 per/man (if we have 4) for all travel and a place to sleep for the whole trip. You are on your own for everything else. Send me a PM if you want to go and we will work out details. First come, first served. The schedule and route is not flexible, you have to go when and where the bus goes, so don't ask.  I am commiting to the trip and will be happy to go alone and pay all the expenses.  I only want to help some one else make the trip, if I can. If I have to listen to you snore, you have to help me with expenses. Fair enough? I am excited about this trip.

Ronnie
