BASS fisherman
Do they have other boats if those 7 or gone by the time I get there? Does anyone already have a boat reserved who needs a fishing partner? I don't have the means to reserve a boat, but will have the monies at the lake. You just give a credit card number and that HOLDS it for you. You don't pay for it until after you use it.
Super User .ghoti. Posted October 12, 2006 Super User Share Posted October 12, 2006 I haven't seen the official Spring schedule yet. If spring break happens at the right time, I'll be there. If not, I'd have to turn in a death certificate to get that many days off in the middle of a semester. Got my fingers crossed. Cheers, GK

Super User Matt Fly Posted October 12, 2006 Super User Share Posted October 12, 2006 While you guys are on Fork, your caps won't matter, you'll blend in nicely with the other 500 northerners that are here for the same reason. To get away from the north weather, and perhaps set a new personal best with a sharelunker and free replica as a added bonus. Hookem Matt

nboucher
Muddy, if the Mets with it all, I'll wear my Red Sox World Series hat and you can wear your Mets World Series hat. . . . Those Tigers are going to be hard to beat, man. Okay, I'm trying to piece together a plan here, but I've got some rookie questions, mostly so I can budget for this: 1. Should I just book a room and get a plane ticket and show up with gear, or do we all need guides & boats? If we need guides and boats is there a rational way to share the load? My impression so far is that everyone is just scrambling. Am I missing an underlying plan/organization? I'm happy to help out with this, if you need me, Russ. My impression is that some guys are coming down together and will likely fish together, but for those of us who are coming down "unattached," should we organize some kind of teamwork? 2. My boat is a kayak, so when it comes to bass boats and engines I don't know squat. I'd like to hook up with a more experienced boater (and fisherman, for that matter). Should I just start begging? 3. Where do we fly into? 4. Any special permits/licenses needed?
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 12, 2006 Super User Share Posted October 12, 2006 Yes, there was at least one couple at last year's event. Plus, we have a couple of female members that might show up with their men in tow. Women are welcome and will be shown the highest level of respect, I can assure you. C'mon over, you will not be disappointed.

Would love to meet some BR members and have a chance at a 10 lb plus HAWG! If anyone has lodging info and wants to pm me I will try to call tomorrow and reserve a room if I can get some buddies to go along. Calling them right now. Keithscatch
Nboucher 3. Where do we fly into? 4. Any special permits/licenses needed? You should most likely fly into DFW. Love Field is another option. Both are in Dallas approx 80 or so miles from Lake Fork. You will need a non resident fishing license. Other then that you will be good to go.
