Am I the only one?

Featured Replies

Am I the only one on this forum that has not caught a bass on a senko? I never gave them a fair chance I guess , but I know the must work because everyone on this forum is always talking about them.

It took awhile for me to actually land a fish on a senko too.  But now these things are absolute dynamite, they definately deserve a fair chance.

i have never caught anything on a senko either , but i have only had them for a few weeks and havent had them in the water a lot. grubs and tubes have been working well and i didnt want to change whats woking.

Senko's are amazing if you know how to fish them. I go through so many, I'm debating about starting my own lure company.....maybe not :-/

Senko's are great bass catchers once you are familiar with how to use them and you have developed confidence in the lure.  The only way to do this is to make yourself use the lure.  One of the administrators of this website has gathered all the information you need about Senkos in the following thread:  http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643.

Work with this lure and you will catch bass.

I have about 40 lbs of Senkos and I can count on one hand how many bass I have caught on them. I just don't seem to have the senko mojo.

I've caught a few on them fished weightless t-rigged but last fall I started wacky rigging them and have had decent luck! I had to force myself to give them a try and only took one rod and Senkos.

I've never purchased nor used a senko.  I have a few tiki sticks.  I've only used them a few times and only caught one fish on them.  I prefer to fish the zoom trick worm.

I had my first opportunity to fish the senko today at a small farm pond with some 1 to 5 lb bass(least those that have been caught on average)

After about an hour of spinnerbaits, crankbaits, etc etc. I T Rigged a Senko and became a believer..wow. About the same time the clouds rolled in and covered the sun, but wow, dynamite is correct, I could watch the fish come out of cover to nail those things..

I actually got 5 fish in about 20 min between 1 and 3 lbs that were just tearing those senkos up. I was lucky enough to maintain the same bait through all the fish too, rather than them tearing up as badly as some people say. Great little trip and made me a believer ;D

hi there, im new on plastics and i got the new Daiwa Viento reel. Do you think it will help me to work zenko 's ?? and how do i use the switching bar to get a good zenko action.

Can u recomend me great lures for this reel ??

( sorry by my english )  ;D

i have a about 4 bags of senkos and the rest are yum dingers. I have had one one fish bit a senko. I never use them since i cant fish slow. My friend swears by them but he can fish slow. I use jerk baits and crank baits all the time.

there are a few occasions where senkos don't work well.  but they are the exception not the rule.  If you cast it weightless, close to cover, on a semi slack line, and be patient, I just don't see how you could not get bites.  Stick to the basic colors.  Junebug, and anything with pumpkin or watermelon in the name.

Maybe this will help.  a senko is NOT a worm.  It is a dying minnow.  If you think of it like that it may help with the presentation.

Senkos 9 bass 7 in afternoon tourney and finnished 2nd still not to revved it's like the slugo thing 5 years after I'm hooked.

44% of my bass this season were caught with senko style .the bass of my avatar was caught with senko

its the best bass catcher out there

next time u go fishing take with u only senkos, this way u ll avoid the temptation of other lures  ::)

(i wish i was the same good with t-rig applications)

This is how I would rank the top three artificial lures/ baits for numbers:

#1 5" Senko

#2 Fat Ika

#3 3 1/2" Gitzit

For size:

#1 6" Senko

#2 Fat Ika

#3 4 1/2" El Gordo tube (Micro Munch Tackle)

For anyone who wants to catch lots of big bass, I suggest going to the Senko threads referenced a couple of posts above. Senkos catch bass...Period.

You're not alone Fl_fisher. I have never caught anything on a Senko. When it comes to soft plastics, I like to stick with what works for. That would be rubber worms and tubes.

Don't get me wrong. I did give the senko a whirl last week. It lasted all of about 10 casts, then back to my confidence inspiring Tube I went.

I have caught plenty of bass on Senkos, but the majority of the fish I catch are caught by Jigs and the Zoom Baby Brush Hogs.

I don't use the Senko but I do use the Berkley Sinking Minnow.  The sinking minnows are more durable than the Senkos.  My favorite color is watermelon.  Give the senko style baits a chance!  They really are fun to fish.  My favorite way to use them is to skip them far under docks/trees etc.  If you think you cant get your bait back there try it anyway, you would be surprised.

Also, if any of you don't want your Senkos you can send them to me.

Hi, my name is Alfred and I've never used a Senko.

Looks like i'll have to get a bag and head out to the lake, i really didn't want to have to do that.

Thanks guys, now you are making me spend more time fishing!!!!  ;)

Well, Alfred.  If that's the case then we have done our job well

I caught my first bass on a senko Saturday morning!!!!!!!!!!!

Black senko, T-rigged, working it along the river bank in some pretty nasty weeds.

Pulled in a 2# 14 inch LM.

I have about 40 lbs of Senkos and I can count on one hand how many bass I have caught on them. I just don't seem to have the senko mojo.

I'll take all 40 lbs of those sorry things off your hands. They are not worth anything.  ;)I'll pay the shipping.  ;D
