how many fish do you have to catch to consider it a "good day". now i know most of you will think that its a good day even if you dont catch any or just one, but lets not be so humble. how many do you have to catch to consider it a good day that you can brag to your buddies about?

for me a good day is usually 7 or 8 bass. i dont catch much. this is usually how many usually catch whenever i go out anyway.

so how many do you guys usually catch and how many make it a good day?

seriously though buddy, it depends on several things - time of year mainly.  this time of year i'm happy if there's no ice and i can just catch a few little 'uns.  if i got someone with me, my goal is for them to catch a good fish or several decent ones.  if i had to put a number on it though, on my favorite lake i'm kinda disappointed if i don't get at least 10 bass.  

good idea for a post.  i'm anxious to see what folks have to say about this one.

I will be honest. I normally do not catch very many. I do not tournament fish, but I like their setup. So I am always shooting for five fish that would weigh in. One fish makes it all worth it, but five makes it a good day for me.

hmmm  good question   i would say 30s for a good day   even though there are days i get them in upper 80s   im fine with catching 30 in a day   thats on rivers and that for smallies  you seem like the type to fish huge bodies of water for largemouth

Two or three per hour is a good outing for me but how good a day it is is better measured by the time between bites. The longer the dry spells the fewer I need to catch to feel like a winner. After a few hours of hauling h20 one dink makes it all worth it. ;D

nah, we got those on 1/2's tin. there's been ice on stuff around here lately and i haven't been able to go much. so excuse me for trying to re-live the "glory days". it's all i've got for now. lol ;D.

One fish and im  fine. But to really be happy about 6

1 bass will make me happy. but on a usual day back home 10 keepers is a usual. in new mexico 3. but when i get my boat from back home in june hopefully the total goes up.

7 to 8 over 2lbs  in 2-3 hours and I'm happy.

Assuming I catch nothing of size 7 or 8.  A 3lber counts as two fish, 4lbs =3, 5lbs=4, 6lbs=5 and 7lbs makes my fishing pants go crazy.

I'm into numbers.  A good day is anything over 50.  Not too difficult at Kelsey.....

Give me one good one on the big baits and i'm satisfied.

If I'm busting the bank, a couple are alright, but if I've got the boat in the water, I'm hoping for at least five...hopefully no lest than 10 though.  

But in this case...SIZE DOES MATTER.

At the same time, the conditions have to be taken into consideration as well.  I went out today and if I had caught one dink, I would have counted it as a good day.  

Still fishless for '08.  That's alright though...the water's cold enough, they'll keep.

I am with Bizz. one fish as long as its big beats 100 3lbers. I had several 100 fish days with 2-4lber being the norm. I gt board and started fishing for bluegill becuase I could catch trophy sized gills.

I would rather work my butt off for 1 10lber then catch keepers all day long. However those 100 fish days were defenatly GOOD days

x2, as long as I get that. Sometimes though if I am having a rough day,one 5+ fish is good enough to call it a good day.

To me it depends on the water that i'm on. if its new to me or old, tidal rivers or lakes but i'm always shooting for atleast 5

I'm in the "just one" camp.

However, a dozen or two 5 lb smallmouth on Lake Erie would turn my head around!

First off, I'm starting to see that a good day means no problems, no $$$$$$ lost to down time.     So catching some fish is icing on the cake.

Putting one in the boat is a good day in 40-48* water.      This weekend, Putting 5 in the boat would be dang good start to a new year, and I don't care if my partner does all 5, I make a very good net man if need be.   This weekend, we'll see 200-250 boats on the water.

So a limit would be very good day for early Feb.    Cashing a check, priceless!!!!!!
