12lb 3oz

10.1 caught on a 1/2 oz Chartreuse & white spinner bait with a white twin tail grub trailer. At a Private lake in Sharpsburg, GA.

Caught one 8.5 on a Senko the same day, my best day ever.

11-8 last year in Florida.  I've caught 4 bass over 7lbs and 2 over 8lbs here in Indiana, but nothing close to my Florida PB

Although my PB is 6 1/2lbs I believe I had a fish on once that might have gone 10lbs. Heres the story. My dad and i were fishing in Beech River on the TN River at Perryville (technically KY Lake) and we were fishing down a bank with lots of stumps and laydowns. The bank has always produced some good fish I believe because there always seems to be baitfish on it and is the closest good cover to the 20ft channel that runs through Beech River. We were fishing spinnerbaits and were catching several small ones all through the day. I through my bait deep into the biggest laydown on the bank and started slowly cranking it back out and all of a sudden something annihalates (spelling?) my bait. I set the hook and I see the biggest head of a  bass I've ever seen comes out of the water. I start playing it and my dad gets the net then I got a good look at it. And SNAP! my line breaks. I just wanted to fall in a hole and die lol :D  That was by far the biggest bass I've ever had on the end of my line. I'll get another shot though :)

10-2 from the world famous stick marsh on a large wild shiner. see pic in avatar.

NOT A MEMBER :'(

Is not for lack of effort!  Leaving on the quest April 3!

Way to go members!

How big was the one in your avatar?   It's got to be close to 10..

I watched my buddy land a 10 plus pounder in my boat.  Does that count??????

Just curious who has actually caught a 10 pound plus bass?

My personal best: 12 pounds 8 ounces  ;)

I've caught quite a few Bass over the 10 lb mark. My biggest being a 13.1 lb Bass back in 1999 and then I caught a 10.6 and a 12.11 lb Bass last April, about 2 weeks apart, out of the same lake. My 13.1 is in my avatar. I've probably caught at least 10 Bass over 10 lbs and a ton of 6-9 lb Bass!

Where is Fish Chris?

Fish Chris, Randell, & Mattlures  ;)

My stupid Internet has been down for a few days :-(

Anyway, I had fished from the time I was 3, until I was 33 > without catching 1 single double digit bass.... even though I live right here where 10 lb'ers are seemingly just jumping into peoples boats.

Then, 10 years ago, I "got lucky" and stuck my first DD, an 11-11 from my home Lk. Berryessa, on a nightcrawler.

After that, I got all stoked on catching more, and maybe even bigger :-) I started studying whatever guys I could find, who were consistently catching bass. And the key was, I simply started fishing "specifically for BIG bass"... Small ones just didn't count anymore. I had caught enough of the those in my first 30 years, to last a lifetime.

Anyway, here we are 10 years later, and after starting my own website geared specifically towards big DD Largemouths, and meeting LOTS of great big bass sticks because of it, I've learned volumes.

Oh, so anyway, after never having caught a bass over 10 lbs, in my first 30 years, I just caught my 84th over 10 lbs yesterday :-) Whoooo Hoooo.......

All of which goes to show, what you have done up until now (if your not yet completely satified) means absolutely nothing ! YOU CAN open up a whole new book, and surprise everybody, not the least of whom, yourself !!! I'm living proof :-)

Peace,

Fish

Newly joined member as of March 17th.

12lbs 6oz

I would say here 6 pound smallies are normal big fish on lake Erie MY pb is 6-3 with problably 100 or more in that same class 6-0 6-1. As the year classes move up so do the weights. I would think I will have a 7+ soon. 7s have been caught all over the lake. My pb largemouth is 5-15 but last spring on one day I caught 3 largemouth that were approaching 7 have pics on my old phone that I keep to someday download them to the pc. We had no scale with us that day so I cannot put an actual weight to claim on them. 5 pounders aren't so bad!! Randy Van Dam holds the ohio smallie record at 9-5 caught in the western basin!

I am new to the site. Just joined yesterday. Figured I would share my 10+ bass from this year so far...

my first fish is 15.5 lb caught March 16th on an 8" Electric Blue w/ White tail texas rigged worm, my second fish is 10.6 caught March 28th on an 8" Pumpkinseed texas rigged worm.

<===== 15.5

Both fish were released to ensure their genes were passed on ;)
