Shimano Curado hands down

I have three, love em. Also to add to their durability, I have yet to buy a new SX. I always buy slightly used on EBAY to save a few bucks and the first one I got was three years ago.

Abu 5600 C3 and a 5600 C4.

Quantum Cabo 30, don't know if it's my workhorse but with out a doubt my most under rated reel. Handles fish much better than my soron 40's and my 4000 stradic, all have similar drag specs, handled 20# bonito & tuna today.

I have three. One is over 10 years old and has been predominately used for

stripper fishing on the Tennessee River. In terms of bass fishing, the reel

is 1,000 years old! The reel is better today than the first day out of the

box. It has been serviced, but never "upgraded". No new parts, no polishing,

no nothin', just cleaning, oil & grease.

Strong, smooth, silent and reliant.

The Trion....my first Flooger and still as smooth as the day I got it. If they dumped that stupid rosewood handle it would be perfect.

I hate that dumb handle! But a great reel!!!

All my reels are mid 90's Shimano Bantams. Citicas, Curado's, Chronarch's. Giving me no reasons to change.

That Floogers handle is a hundred times better than the non handle on my Shimano CI4's. I dont understand what the handle fuss is all about, its the same dimensions as a ABU casting reels.

Hmmm, If I had to choose just one reel,even though I don't use it very often, would be my Shimano Calcutta. I have several models and they're all excellent. I believe you would be hard pressed to find a more dependable, workhorse of a reel.

Yep, same here, but Calcutta 200b. The Calcutta's are rock solid. Next would be the Curado E7.

Zebco 202 Without a doubt.............

Diawa Pluton, I know its a lot heavier than a Steez but it is solid, can handle any fish and will probably last forever.

It's hard to choose, all of my reels have been very dependable.

Casting would probably go to my Revo S with my Zillion 100SHLA as a close second. I've yet to even have a major failure of any LP casting reel on the water so that's based on how it feels in hand as much as actual durability I guess. The Revo wins simply because it feels like a much more solid reel than lots in its price range. I've been extremely rough on mine and use it a lot fishing from shore because I can abuse it without feeling bad or fearing it will break.

Spinning - Pfleuger Trion. Most of my spinning setups are 'low end' compared to casting but this is the cheapest and most dependable reel I own. Again, I use it a lot fishing from shore but this one really takes a beating. I could soak it in a mud puddle and still feel confident about the reel. It's been one extremely tough reel for such a low price. As someone else mentioned, I just wish they would scrap the stupid rosewood handle.

However, if we're talking about baitcaster's I'd say Curado.
