Im a veteran as well, im around 50-60 myself. I will tell you that although you're passing blood, if you haven't felt that last sharp pain of it exiting, it's still in there. I've been using the jump and bump method for years now, seems to work and speeds up the process. No meds for me. What I did whenever I was in pain was the following: drink a lot of water, do 60 jumps (abrupt landing) 1 per second, then drink water again, do 60 more jumps. This helped completely ease the pain. Every time the stone would hurt in the ureter I would do the jump & bump method and every time the pain would go away.

Nooooooo. I use regular gas, throw a little startron in it and run it for the season, then drain the fuel and run it dry..then empty they carb bowl. Takes all of 15 minutes but worth it.

Sounds like a whole house standby is a no brainer for you. We have a generac and its invaluable. 400 amps is a big house, double the size of a typical house.
