A Close Call
Glad you are OK. That pic gave me they willies. That was too close for comfort.
-
I need a hat…
I wear either a boonie or a tall, wide brim straw hat. The tall straw hat let's some of the heat rise up away from my head.
-
bladed jig Rod
An old MH/F Bass Pro Tourney Special rod. One of the maroon ones with the hump in the handle.

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
About the only time I have luck with a frog is when I'm fishing heavily matted ponds, and those ponds have not seen a lot of frog fishing pressure. Most of the time I will be fishing with a popper, walking bait, or a Jitterbug.
-
Do senkos loose their effectiveness after multiple uses?
This time of year I am fishing weightless. Senkos get torn up more from dragging through the vegetation than catching bass. If the bait is long enough I will turn it around and Texas rig it from the back side. The bass don't seem to notice any difference.

Patience, or…….
I move when my gut tells me to. It might be 30 minutes, or it may be 5 minutes.
-
Anyone else struggle to flip once on the water?
I figure if I can get the bait where I want it 50% of the time then I am doing good.
-
The Jig Is Up
I have been fishing a 1/8 round head jig, I can pull that size through the vegetation easier than a larger jig. Most of the time I will be using a Zoom Super Chunk Jr. as a trailer. If the bass are wanting a smaller profile, then I will use a Netbaits Tiny Paca Chunk.
-
What are your favorite night bass fishing techniques?
I have a few. Large plastic worm, spinnerbait, and swimjig when the bass don't want to come up. Jitterbug, buzzbait, and popper when bass are hitting stuff on the surface. Which bait depends on the water I am fishing.

Bird Feeders
We have two birdfeeders in the back yard. The smaller birds dig through the seed and eat what they want. The rest of the seed falls on the ground and is eaten by the larger birds that will not fit on the feeders, We also get squirrels and rabbits coming in to get the seeds that have fallen on the ground. It's all good until the grackles show up.
-
Do you find it useful or unnecessary to carry a dedicated spinnerbait/bladed jig setup?
If the conditions are right then I use the same MH/F rod for both spinnerbaits and bladed jigs, depending on what the bass want.
-
Do you land your chatter baits on the bottom?
If there are snags on the bottom I'll start the retrieve as soon as the bait hits the water.

Tribute to Tom (WRB)
That's a good looking jig.
