Al, those are very kind words you have said. I know Ryan deserves them. I tell you it has been a great ride for me. I have totally enjoyed the oportunity to be a small part of Senko's life. He is an inspiration to us all. I am proud to call him my friend.
  4. Welcome to the family Bob.
  5. WOW! You guys have some great favorites. Let me add on to the list. Jamacan Batch #114. It is a Habaniaro based sauce with enought garlic and other spices to set the tastebuds rolling.
  6. Wow. That's a change from last year but it makes sense. A pin is a good fix.
  7. Many people don't know this but Adam (Doghouse) is the guy who introduced me to bass fishing. That man can find a way to catch a bass on a spinnerbait in any condition. Great fish Adam.

  9. That's great. You're gonna love them. Be shure to fold the fins forward and pin them down with rubberbands while you are storing them. This will help them flare out better.
  10. I don't think it's the need for big bags. I think the main reson is that it raises the level of excitment at the beginning of the year. This will, in turn keep the excitement level high througout the season. Before they moved it there wasn't many of us watching the tournaments during the season. We waited for the Classic and then we tuned in.
  11. I totally agree with this point. I will add the the Z series Rangers have a hull design that in many peoples opinion is substandard for a Ranger. The hatch doors don't have alot of needed support. My buddy is having all his hatch door replaces this week because they are cracking due to the lack of support. That is why Ranger built the Z520. The hull is just about the best there is and they went back the the old hatch design.

Mark cracks me up. That rig has been fished for years in my part of the country. Anyway, to answer your question. There are many ways to rig a Fluke. I prefer a 4/0 offset, round bend hook. Rigs: weedless Texas rig Carolina Rig Dropshot Double Fluke Rig (The real name of Mark's discovery) : Wacky Trailer on a spinnerbait, or Chatterbait Use a weighted hook to get it down but keep it vertical
  14. If you could only see some of my best producing baits. Many of them are almost paintless. The clear Super Spook that I use the most is so scratched up it is no longer clear. I don't know why topwater baits need eyes anyway. The eyes are mostly on top and the bass is looking at it from underneith. :-/
  15. Things to notice about that picture. It's late Fall. The trees have changed and the majority of the leaves have fallen. The grass has matted and the fish are heading out to their winter haunts.
  16. Why get those cheap peices of junk. Go to Cabelas and order a Navionics Hotmap on paper. They are the best paper maps made IMO. http://www.navionics.com/HMPaperCatalog.asp

Only one of your posts have been moved. You talk like it has happened more than just once. Although your intentions may have been right on, your location was not.

Burly, I understand what you are saying. When I had been on the forum for a few months there were these two young guys. They were 18 or 19 years old. They were fishing buddies and they thought they knew everything. I took their garbage for a little while but when they tried to convince everyone that they caught a spawning bass on the bed in September that's when I lost it and I made a post much like what you have done here. Thank the lord they have gone off and joined the Navy or something like that. I probably would have left this place if they would have stayed. But lets look at this from another angle. A young angler who is thirsting for bass knowledge finds this site and starts to soak up every bit of information he can. As the days and weeks pass he starts to understand the atmosphere we have here and he wants to get more involved. So he begins to look for questions he knows the answer to for the purpose of giving back some of the knowledge he has learned. That's fine so long as the advice that is given is accurate and not misleading. We shouldn't begin to discourage young members from doing this. Now if the advice is misleading or totally inaccurate then I feel it is time to set the record straight. I know that with a little understanding and tact things can be straightened up without problems.
  19. The powerful smell of JJ's Magic. It means it's time to catch a fish. 8-)

  21. Unless $50,000 grows on my dogwood tree this year I will still be fishing out of my Triton Aluminum with a 90hp. That just won't cut it.
  22. It is my understanding that crawfish can be any number of colors any time of the year. I have found that the best way to determine what color to use is to set a few traps and catch some. Then match the predominant color.
  23. Welcome to the family.
  24. Cool Dru, Welcome. It was great hanging out and learning from you. I couldn't have gotten as much inside stuff had I not followed you around and watched you work. Thanks Gene
