  1. A couple of my facts were wrong. It was only a 16 month sting and it was the second largest sting by the ATF.
  2. Here in Augusta GA the ATF just had the largest gang and gun bust in it's history. They were aided by the Local Sheriff's Dept. and the FBI. It was a nearly two year sting involving only one main undercover agent. This agent posed as a Tattoo artist in a little shop on the south of town. The shop was full of hidden cameras and recording equipment. It was a place where thieves and gang members came to unload guns and deal drugs while they were getting tattoos. Many of them would be drunk while getting tattoos and many of them confessed to many crimes while under the needle. lol This undercover agent was a great tattoo artist and he was also a convicted felon who knew the ins and outs of the criminal world. He spent 10 years behind bars. With his help they arrested 71 people the first night of the roundup and 22 others later on. They caught 8 people who were wanted for murder, dozens of gang members and several leaders of those gangs. There were 147 federal charges brought against these people and many of them are going to be in prison for a long time. The crime rate in Augusta has dropped tremendously since November. My city is a lot safer because of a convicted felon.
  3. I use two colors. white and green. They are reaction baits so I want the bass to react to the sound and get a slight look at the bait so color isn't a big factor. Get a light one and a dark one and that should do you just fine. Also take a look at their Frog. It looks great to.
  4. Wal-Mart is carrying them. So you may not have to order them. I bought several bags from Academy but I haven't tried them yet but by looking at how they are designed they look like that will be great. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1202071679
  5. Welcome to the forums. The glue that you use should be outdoor carpet glue. When you open the can it should look like peanut butter. Measure the length and width of your boat and the height of all the vertical surfaces and then add about three feet in length to the end of your total and you will have enough to do it.
  6. CB Mighty D2R I wish they still made them.
  7. I didn't know that you were a pyrotech. That's cool. My oldest brother works for a company out of Logan Utah. So he is a Rocket Scientist by day and a Pyrotech by night. lol He ran a crew for the Salt Lake Winter Olympics. The day after the Olympics he had to fly to Russia for a business trip. They arrested him because he came up hot when an bomb sniffing dog hit on him. It took him a day to get the go ahead. lol
  8. Of course I'm going to say buy a Dobyns rod. I will tell you that all my Dobyns rods are great. They are very light, balanced and sensitive. A few months ago I loaned a few of them to a friend of mine and he liked them so much that he sold all his G-Loomis rods and replaced them with Dobyns. If you don't believe me just send a PM to spotaholic on this forum. Gary created the Dobyns line spacificly to compete with Powell. Who better to know how to make a better rod than the Powell then the man who designed all the Powell Max rod. He improved on them and is selling his rods at the same price. All I can say is try one out and see for yourself.
  9. Put in at Sugar Creek Public ramp across from Sugar Creek Marina. Sugar Creek is one of the best places on the lake to fish. There are a bunch of bass in there and no shortage of docks to fish. When are you planning on going down and when are your tournaments?
  10. Hunting It is the only thing I do that I am cocky about. I am the best deer hunter I know. The only problem is that it is no longer a challange. I still fill the freezer every year but after that I am done. I don't spend 200 days a year in the woods like I used to.
  11. 12 of them are spoons. What's with that?
  12. I caught the Savannah River record Redear Sunfish. I smashed the old record by 1.2 lbs. The only problem was I found this out after I had cooked it and had it for dinner. >
  13. After reading that it makes me wonder who their sponsors are. That list is nothing but someones opinion. Nothing more.
  14. Yep. I saw that. He used a dropper rig. But instead he used a fluke. It was cool.
  15. Keep checking Ebay and old Mom and Pop stores.
  16. Double Fluke Rig 1. Cut two leaders one about 24-26 inches long and the other 12-13 inches long. 2. Tie a swivel onto one end of each leader. 3. Put the main line coming from your rod through the swivel of the short leader. (Do not tie to the short leader.) 4. Tie the main line to the swivel from the long leader. 5. Tie a 5/0 EWG hook onto each leader and put on your favorite Fluke. I will also put a small fluke on the short leader and a Super Fluke on the long leader to make it look like a larger fish chasing a smaller fish. Put a couple of glass beads between the swivels to make some noise.
  17. This past year I found a new way to fish a Super Fluke. I use this technique to search for the bass when they are in the hydrilla. But I guess it could be used anywhere. Supplies needed: Super Fluke Large barrel swivel Regular offset, round bend worm hook 4/0 or 5/0 18 to 24 inch leader. Take the large swivel and tie the leader on then tie the main line to the swivel and tie the hook to the other end of the leader. Texas rig the Fluke. But make sure the hook is on the back side of the Fluke not on the side with the groove. If fish this rig in a Med X-fast rod. Now all you have to do is cast it out and slowly reel it in. It should have a slight side to side action but it shouldn't be spinning. If you use a EWG hook it will spin. You must use a Regular Offset Worm hook. The large swivel is the weight that keeps the Fluke just under the water.
  18. They are great cranks. I crank them through some of the biggest piles of Christmas Trees you have ever seen and have never gotten snagged.................... They catch fish to.
  19. Raul, Thank you for everything you do here. I always enjoy your posts and advise.
  20. JJ's Magic has some clear garlic dip that will take care of that smell. It won't hurt the plastic either.
  21. Clear with a small amount of tiny black and silver glitter. I've been trying to get Zoom to make special run of that color for a few years now. A vertical split tail that's a little larger.
  22. Yea, I probably should have separated those two sentences. They are two totally different thoughts from two different experiences I've had with him. He originally told me the story of him being deaf and living with his parents and collecting Social Security. I still believe that to this day. But as I got to know him through his post I realized that he didn't possess certain social aspects. He had the same traits as my niece and nephews who have been home schooled their whole lives and never had any friends outside of the family. Let's just say they don't know how to make friends. I understand as I hope everyone else does, that these traits can apply to anyone who has never had the chance to socialize properly.
  23. 5' 10" 215 and shrinking. I lost 5lbs last week and I want to get down to 190 by the Summer.
  24. I keep bass if they don't make it. I keep four or five every time I am teaching survival skills to Boy Scouts. Other than that I don't keep them. Even if they are records.
