Palomar on a dropshot and when using braid. Rapala knot on topwater. Improved Clinch on everything else.

I would spend the extra cash for the ones that Jig man suggested. I've seen Brian's work and it is outstanding.

I forgot about those jigs Randall. They are great. I ran out a few months ago and never picked up some more. They are nice.

Have you accually fished with it and caught fish?

I use the Legend Cx. I also have the US Inland Lakes program. But I don't have it here at work. I do know that there are a bunch of detailed maps on there from the northern states but I can't tell you what ones. If you shoot me a PM on Monday I will be able to get you a list. I think Garmin is dumb for not supplying a list of the exact lakes covered. I have never looked at the new Lawrance units. If they take Navionics I would get one.

Dom, You are talking about the good ol' jighead and worm. I use many different kinds of jigheads and I have found that the two types I use the most are round head and stand-up head. I have caught hundreds of fish on the Spot Remover stand-up and many others on the Picasso Shakedown round head. I found that when the fish want the worm hopped I go to the standup. There is nothing better than a Spot Remover IMO. But when they are inactive and hard to catch a roundhead is the ticket. You let the jig settle to the bottom and shake it without moving it. The thing to look for when picking out a round head is the angle of the hook eye from the hook, and the direction the hookeye is turned. This is why I feel that the Picasso is superior to most "shaky jigs". It has a 60 degree angle so you can shake the worm up and down without lifting the weight off the bottom, and the eye is also a cross eye. This prevents the jig from turning on its side while you are lightly shaking it. Fluke

I absolutly love all my Dobyns Rods. The difference between the Extreme and Champion is only the modulus. The Extremes are a lighter rod. The other components are the same as far as I can tell. It is worth the extra money on the heavier rods. IMO
