  1. Chris, If you choose to got to Guntersville you will have a blast. Think of catching an 8lb bass on topwater frogs in the weeds. Talk about exciting. I went out with a guide when we were there that I would recomend again and again. He was an absolute blast to fish with and he was on some great fish. I learned allot from him and he took good care of us. He even stayed after and marked up my map so we could stay on fish all week. Talk about a great guy. His name is Jeff Reid. If you need any contact information I would be glad to give it to you.
  2. I know some pro's that won't get in the boat with him. He drives like a mad man. I've heard stories that would scare a stunt man. lol
  3. Matt, I got a look at your new rods. Talk about sweet. Very nice work.
  4. Just because we haven't heard his opinion in public doesn't mean that he hasn't voiced it in private. How can you come down on him so hard without knowing what he is thinking or doing that we don't see. There isn't much he could do anyway. He doesn't own it anymore.
  5. Big-O, Thanks for the chance to fish those big worms early. They are awesome. I showed them to the other guide and he put one on a hook and made a cast from the dock. It didn't make it back to the dock without getting hammered by a 4lb bass. I was impressed to say the least.
  6. Welcome back Muddy. It's good to see you again OLD friend.
  7. Welcome to the forum. What kind of worm is it. Based on your description, I've never heard of a worm like that.
  8. I think they are just moving around a bit. They aren't coming back to Clark's Hill next year eather.
  9. They say that R&L carries them but I've never seen them there.
  10. Anything with an open hook. (spinnerbait, crankbait, spook, chatterbait)
  11. Here's how I got started cheep. Maybe you can get something out of it. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1170958187 The only thing I would do different is buy a kit.
  12. A Mojo Rig or a Splitshot Rig works great in the grass but if one of those toothy fish get the worm you will have to tie on another hook.
  13. They also have largemouth there. I used to fish for them when I was stationed there. I only lived a few miles from the lake. It was great fun.
  14. RR, Glad to see you back. The mods were just talking about you the other day. Just wondering where you went.
  15. It works just fine. I have red and black and I use it for my hooks and spinnerbait blades. It isn't permanent but it last for a few trips.
  16. An Ugly stick is a great crankbait rod. You really can't beat it for the price.
  17. There is already a Frog thread running. Why start another one?
  18. I'm not a big believer in red hooks although I do use them on some of my topwater baits. I wouldn't worry about it to much. Just use them. They shouldn't have a negitive effect on your fishing. One thing though. Don't put all of them into your tackle box. Just put a few at a time. Over time they will rub against each other and your red hooks will become gold.
  19. I'm just the opposite. I like them all scratched up. I have a few baits that I will take out of the package and work them over with some steel wool and sand paper. The bass just seem to like those particular crankbaits beat up.
  20. That's great. I'm glad the video helped you out.
  21. Matt, It won't be the one with the maroon and Green. It will be a tan Columbia fishing shirt with the Bass Fishing Resource Guide logo on the back. You can't miss him. He will be the one with eyes as big as dinner plates. lol
  22. Don't feel bad I didn't get mine either.
  23. That's just amazing.
  24. I want in on this one to. I will be on the Rage-Tail side. I'll bring video proof if I can get good footage. 8-)
  25. I'd try a topwater frog in the morning and as the sun gets up switch to a weightless trick worm. Let both baits fall down into holes in the weeds and hold on tight.
