  1. For all of those applications I use a Dobyns 735C. It's a Med/Hvy Ex-Fast action rod rated for 1/4 to 1 1/2 oz lures. I think it's a little heavier than I would consider a Med/Hvy rod but it's perfect. It was designed for Frogs, Flippin, Pitchin, and small swimbiats. I like it so much I just got my second one in the mail. If you've seen any of my videos when I'm jig fishing that's the rod I'm using.
  2. You didn't miss the Caps Lock button that's for sure...................... Man that was hard to read.
  3. 15 deer stands 10 guns Boxes and boxes of Camo Two chests of equipment Three Shoulder Mounts Five pair of boots One land lease 15 food plots and a 4 wheeler I would say he does.
  4. Fish the paint off of your crankbait. Bang it off of everything. Fish one that dives to the bottom and bounce it off of every rock, stump, and log. Dig a ditch with the thing but reel it slow.
  5. Many of those are offshore structure fisherman. :-?
  6. I'm awake now, Thanks.
  7. Wax reduces water friction and I would think that waxing the blades would make them more difficult to get spinning.
  8. Very good rods. You won't be sorry. I have one and love it. Fivebasslimit has owned several of them in the past.
  9. I used to fish a Public Fishing Area four or five times a week for 12 years. It had five Warden on duty during the day. I have never been checked by any of them.
  10. *****Edited***** Some of you forgot this was a family site. I know we don't talk religion on here but I won't let anyone take the Lords name in vain on my watch. >

  12. Here are a few more classic threads on crankbaits. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1128775970 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1119925592 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1165283062 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1100867443
  13. Here's a couple of articles on color. They mostly talk about crankbaits but they could be some help to you. http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/color_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/Choosing_Colors_selection.html
  14. I think Powell Rods are a great rod. They were designed by Gary Dobyns and will preform well. Dobyns Rods are Gary's new company and he did a great job on them as well. I would recomend Dobyns rods most any day because that's all I fish but you won't go wrong with Powell either. Powell screwed their dealers with that price drop though. All Powell did was decrease the retail price. The dealers are still paying the same amount for the rods but making less profit. Stores are droping them left and right.
  15. A month ago I saved a lot of money by ordering the 5:4 gears from Abu and putting them on one of the Revo SC that I got for cheep last year. Reel - $60 Gears - $25 = one great $85 crankin reel. If anyone is interested in doing this I might be able to dig up the part numbers and the phone number for ya.
  16. I love to put them on a C-Rig and fish them at night. They also work great during the day.
