thats what i did. the rod tosses 1/4 oz baits very well and i assume would handle #5 shad raps if i wanted it too. the real problem i see with these rods are the rod rating doesnt meet reality. does that make them junk? couldnt tell you.

2 that come to mind are: Daiwa Zillion 100SHA Shimano Curado 200E7 2 great reels.

how does one tell a difference between junk and quality in the store? id love to know because i have rods i hate that draw raves from posters and i have rods i like that draw boos. ignoring the price and the name on the rod, what should i do to find a good rod while in the store?

Unless the reel was in the water for a long time, i wouldnt worry about a few seconds in the water.

a second hand Zillion, or a Sol if a slow retrieve is wanted, Fuego wouldnt be the worst idea either.

we do it a lot, sept we dont use jugs. we 2' lengths of PVC glued into pool noodles. on the top of the PVC cap we wrap it with reflective tape. a fresh bluegill will temp many types of fish.

casting rod, 7' Spinnerbait/Worm is a sweet light crankbait rod. i switched between a Bandit 200 series crank and a LC Fat Mini D-5 and the rod tossed those baits like a dream. i highly recommend them.

That's right ~ because Quantums are the only reels that ever have any mechanical problems. A-Jay Quantum did make the first Daiwa Sol i ever owned and took back...
