nothing against Mike but IMO the bearings are a waste of money in that reel. the Revo series really responds to a professional clean and lube. from what i understand the Revo series also comes with a very good stock drag system. im curious to know what is changed performance wise with new washers.

i am the biggest Daiwa homer on this forum and im not sure about this reel. we spooled the reel at BPS and took turns messing around. after we were done my impression of the reel is: this one was packed full of grease or theyre just not very smooth. id love to handle one thats been cleaned and correctly lubed. as far as what the OP is looking for the only thing that comes to mind is a Curado E7.

bout $385 actually it's about $435 at the current rate of exchange. The dollar is about $.92 to 1 yen. actually i was going off the price of the reel at http://www.marunouchishop.com/main/daiwa_e/ed_px_68.html . the price is listed as 36105 yen, that why i posted about $385.

i personaly would make the guide all one piece. id like to hear/see how others have made their though.

id make a U out of PVC pipe and clamp the pipe to the frame with galvanized clamps.

thorns used to kill my boots like crazy............ now when i poke a hole in them thats not in the tread i use a good ol fashioned tire tube patching kit and cover the hole. so far, so good.....

be a proud moment at my house.......... IMO the "pretty green painted reel" is one of if not the best reel at the $150 - $200 mark. i bet the Abu Revos lost a lot of cash to those babys.

i might use one from time to time but 80% of the time i know what i want to use and stick with it so i dont have much need for them.

loading a boat isnt rocket science. most modern trailers will all but load the boat for you. the problem i see 95% of the time is backing the trailer into the water too far.

id check to make sure youre getting 12 volts to the trim unit.

does your boat have a tach?

i was told by a friend at BPS that Browning reels are Pflueger frames with different insides. for whatever thats worth....

id remove the transducer from the trolling motor and temporarily mount it to a board or something and see what changes. i assume youre using the factory transducer?

ive always adjusted the trim for max rpm's. as far as sinking from trim adjustment, thats never crossed my mind.

the bottom pic looks like lonestar.

id never do this with my bass boat. i back down the ramp, un-hook the safety chain, fire the motor and back off. at electric only lakes same thing sept i back deeper, un-hook the safety chain, then push the boat off the trailer and hop on. then i kick the trolling motor down. some one launches like that and their boat drifts around digging their prop in my boat and things would get ugly.
