  1. "Better" in which aspect ? Sol vs Alphas .... which Alphas model ? Lets 's point some characteristics of the Alphas model by model so you get a better idea: Alphas Type F Weight 6.2 Oz Cold Forged Handle 8 bearings ( 6 in the reel, 2 in the knobs ) Mag V Painted finish Alphas Weight 6.4 oz Cold forged handle 6 bearings ( same as the Sol, but these version has CRBBs ) Mag V Painted finish Alphas Itö Weight 6 oz Cold forged handle 6 bearings Mag V with Type R+ inductor Polished aluminum finish Alphas R edition Weight 6 oz Carbon fiber handle 8 bearings ( 6 in the reel, 2 in the knobs ) Mag V Painted finish The Sol is not better than any Alphas, the Sol is up par with the Alphas. if i said the purple one does that help? new, in the box.
  2. on paper the Sol should be the better reel. is this true?
  3. we use that on car wash bay doors. paraffin wax on the back threads if you can get to them and a torch work well too.
  4. you can carolina rig a lipless crankbait and fish it that way.
  5. id have to agree with this whole post and add that i feel the Revo line is IMO $30 over priced retail. to me the STX just doesnt have "that" feel i get from even my Sol let alone the Zillion. i had thought the Daiwa line was priced ok until the $20 bump they received.
  6. this is odd, i just noticed this.
  7. there is a valid point. EDIT: i will however have that motor hanging on the back of that boat. i have a 16' jon on which the motor would work fine.
  8. and i have yet to buy the hotmaps card. im not buying one until i can make a copy of the card so when the first one gets wet and stops working ill have a back-up.
  9. went to one of the newer lake in the area and played with the SI sonar for a while. i love the fact you can take snap shots of what youre seeing. i thought id share a few. the first shot is where we found the creek channel from before the lake filled, the second looks like a brush pile about 20 yard off the old creek channel. we caught a ton of the dinks and 3 fish right at 18". in 5 years the place should be perfect.
  10. looked like a sweet trip.
  11. 12. i have one of those coming up on the 30th....................minus three 0's
  13. Man you must be on hemp !!! You put KVD on the bank of my home lake with a cane pole and you are going to have one ridiculous looking loser and it aint gonna be me . He would never recover from that spanking !!!! same gear, KVD in a boat with a Trolling Motor only? you still going to win? In my 70 acre private lake he's smoked, it would be like trying to hold back the tide, he couldnt do it. On t-bend I am pretty sure I would never recover from that spanking. Thats reality, " WAIT A MINUTE" DID YOU SAY HE ONLY HAD A TROLLING MOTOR ? OH YEAH I GOT HIS NUMBER !!!!! either way it would be fun to watch.

  16. to me, 40 MPH is still impressive with that set-up. i have a nitro tourney with a 115 hp and it tops out at about 42 mph. what rpm's are you turning at WOT?
  17. its good, i like the Extreme better though.
  18. i have a Hummingbird 535 on the trolling motor and i feel its one of the best units out there for the money. http://store.humminbird.com/humminbird-products/sonar-gps-combos/500-series/535/prod405970-1.html
  19. Jesus kid, I'm starting to believe your ego has it's own zip code. Nothing wrong with creating your own structure. Personally, I'd go with pvc to make it relatively snag proof. that did sound a little angry.
