  1. I believe I have the same motor. 2 stroke right? What kind of boat is it on? Mines a 16ft fiberglass tri hull. I'll let you know how it works with that motor. Thanks for the input guys. It sounds like I'll go pick one up. Any suggestions on the type? I was looking at the Stingray XPII.
  2. I'm guilty of drinking while fishing, but it's on very rare occasion. *I don't like drinking when it's hot. 100+ degree's plus alcohol+boat=MAJOR dehydration/headache. *I don't like drinking when the fishing is good. It's too much trouble to deal with drinking when I should be worrying about fishing. *I will sometimes drink at the beginning of a long night fishing trip. * When I think the fishing is going to be tuff, I'll buy a couple just in case *Anytime when fishing with 4bizz with that said, I NEVER drink to the point of getting a buzz. I think the most I ever drank on a trip was 3 over a 8 hour period. I think certain fisherman put a bad rap on drinking+fishing and give fisherman drinking beer a bad name. It's just like anything else - moderation and responsibility.
  3. Here is my dilemma.... 4bizz just did a major re-deck/custom live well on my boat. He added about 100-125 extra pounds to the front. On top of that when the live well is full it adds at least another 100 pounds. Plus us two (450 lbs) and 100 lbs of gear, my merc 35 can no longer get on plane with the live well full. The boat is isn't even close to reaching it's max weight and when WOT it is SOOO close to hitting plane but will not get all the way up. So my question to you is if you think a hydrofoil will help get the boat on plane? I know they will make most boats look goofy, but I'm sure it will add some style and class to my boat lol. I'm sure I could adjust my engine mount a click or two, but it seems like the hydrofoils have a few extra perks. Anyone care to share any information. I was searching BPS and was looking at something like this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_91111_225011000_225000000_225011000_225-11-0
  4. For me it has been 3 days from CA to KY...not bad at all...order before 3pm PST and usually ships same day Order it monday morning, on my doorstep tuesday evening. 8-)
  5. I hope you understand the box of worms you just opened. This picture will come to haunt you for many many years. There are a vast number of "Photoshop" possibilities somebody can have with this.... just a heads up!!
  6. They have pre-rigged weights. It's an external weighting system that helps it land right side up as well as other uses.... no pre-rigged hooked though.
  7. They always say pets are just like their owners... right??? :-X

  9. The HUD bug has WAY better action in the water and seems more realistic than the yabbie IMPO. With the hook already inside the yabbie, you have no versatility. with the HUD bug you have numerous options on how to rig/work it.
  10. Hmmmm... well I guess I'll start the "Negative" bandwagon. I bought 5 random BPS lures a few years back. They were a good deal and I didn't know better. First one was a shallow diver crank bait. It didn't run straight at first (Expected this from a BPS crank) so I tuned it just like I do with Rapala's, Normans, etc. Take a pair of pliers and very slightly adjust the line tie. I DID NOT put excessive pressure on it due to the fact that it takes so little adjustment to straighten them out most of the time. Well the line tie breaks right where the metal goes into the lip. Second was a small weedless flipping jig. This was the first time throwing jigs and it looked real good. So I cast out and work it for 20 feet and get to a semi thick weed patch. Soon as I hit the weeds I reel in. When I get it in the skirt is gone :-/ . Now I'm 0 for 2 Third was a spinner bait. After my two previous attempts with BPS lures I didn't have high hopes. So I'm working this spinner bait near the bottom and after the second cast, I realize the top blade fell off. So I struck out on BPS Crap and will no longer use/touch/look at/recommend/think about/or buy any BPS lures or tackle. From MY experience, they aren't worth it and I'd rather spend the same amount of money on a brand like Normans cranks, or Jewel Jigs, or Terminator spinner baits that will hold up to at least 3 casts. Just my .02c
  11. Never seen them either... cool idea, but don't think they exist. I have seen some that have a small hollow cavity to insert a rattle or scent. Let me see if I can find out who makes them.
  12. I use the Crucial DSR 7'2" M. It's got a nice soft tip that is great for hook setting without ripping those small hooks out. It's also got a exposed blank on the foregrip which I have noticed helps me detect those VERY settle bites. For the money it's a great value and has a great warranty.
  13. Sorry to hear that man.. That sucks. Did you loose your fishing stuff as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Glad you guys are alright!!
  14. The USB on the deck is the only way to go now. I will NEVER buy a new deck without one. It's the coolest invention since sliced bread. Being able to buy a small flash drive, put music on it, and stick it in your deck is so much better than the MP3 player/FM transmitter deal.

  16. It's all about the warranty for me when buying used rods!!!!!!
  17. They also have "Life" on sale :
  18. They will work, but I probably wouldn't throw a bait like a hudd in 2ft or less visibility due to the slight movemembt it makes. I might throw something that displaces more water and is more noisy. But swimbaits are good in just about any water clarity
  19. Come to California, you'll stop complaining. One of my favorite lakes. 2 dudes and a boat is $32. I understand your frustration, I've gotten so tired of the raises in everything.... if it weren't for the great fishing in Cali, I would probably move.
  20. I'll add my vote for CXX. I use 20# for baits 3oz and under; 25# for 3-6 oz and 30# for 6+oz baits. It's fairly cheap, abrasion resistant and strong as sh!t.... Throwing 75$+ baits, you have to be very confidant in your line, CXX works for me!!!
  21. It's worth it if you hire your buddy to do it ;D. 4bizz is doing my boat. It's a project i've really wanted to do with mine. I had dreams of raising the deck 7in and extending it 2-3 feet as well as a livewell, battery storage, and tackle storage. I started the brainstorming process and realized it was WAY out of my league. Since 4bizz likes building I hired him and I must say, I am dumbfounded at how well it's turning out. It's not cheap. The final cost will be about $600 which includes a couple hundred for labor. I'm VERY excited to get it back, it's "Grand Voyage" will be this friday.... i CANT WAIT!!!
  22. The three necessities of life + the great outdoors.... what else could one want :-/
  23. Congratulations, you now have the record for the oldest resurrected thread :-/
