No, actually he's not. He's got one of the highest bench press maxes and isn't afraid to lay a hit on somebody. Our other one on the other hand...well...let's not go there. 9th 9th Grade!!!! Seriously man, the biggest regret I have in high school is that I WASN'T single in high school. There is plenty of time for girls once your done with HS. Play the field for the next 4 years.... : Don't get involved. As somebody so gently put it.... Bro's before "Gardening tool"

How long does it take you to get ready?
My process SUCKS... 3-4 hours easily. Out of all the lake I fish, I fish no two the same way. So therefore each time I go out, I tie on different baits, different line etc. Ontop of that, my boat and truck are stored 1 hour away. So I have to tie up all my rods (5-7 per trip) then pack food, water, clothes, gear into my car. Drive 1 hour and unload all my stuff into my boat and truck. I wish I could get my boat and truck closer, it would make trips WAY easier!!

has anyone used Mend-It! Soft Bait Repair and SpikeIt Garlic Dye-A-Live ?
I have used mend it in the past and yes it does what it says it will do. Never had any problems except that it dried up... BUT they recently fixed that issue and I don't believe it dries up on you anymore. With that said... I no longer use it as I just heat up a hook and melt the two pieces together. It works well for my needs and there is no reason for me to buy mend it.

COD: Modern Warfare 2
Anybody see the trailer for this game yet? Just saw it after the Cavs/Magic game. Looks pretty promising. I've never been the biggest fan of Call of Duty games until Modern Warfare came out. I never got into the WW2 type games. I have my copy reserved already... I guess I should finish the last level before I start on the sequel. Mile High Club on veteran is a buttkicker!!!!! http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/

Sierratradingpost.com
For those of you that are really into the outdoors, you NEED to check out this place for your gear. This place was recommended by a member on this site. Then after fourbizzs' great experience with them I gave it a try. They sell all kinds of outdoor gear, from backpacks, to socks, to kayaking, to sleeping bags, etc. While they lack the vast selection of say REI, they more than make up for it in their price's. Their slogan is 35%-70% EVERY DAY, I have found this to be true. My first purchase was a internal frame backpack. It was just under 4000 Cubic inches (Cant' remember the brand) but I was able to get it just under $50 shipped. The cheapest I could find it for anywhere else online was $109 + Shipping. The transaction went great, fast shipping, and it came exactly as described online. My second purchase (Waiting for it to arrive) is a new sleeping bag. I was able to get it for $57 shipped. The cheapest I could find it anywhere else is $79 + $12.95 shipping. As you can see the prices are just ridiculous. Take a look at this comparison - REI Backpack - $329 http://www.rei.com/product/766116 Same backpack sierratradingpost.com - $186.95 http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,1397T_Gregory-Palisade-Backpack-Internal-Frame.html I'm not bashing REI at all (I actually like going into their store, ours has a VERY knowledgeable staff and has a decent selection, but their prices are too high). I am also not sponsored or related to Sierratradingpost.com. Just passing the information along. Their stock of items doesn't seem to be static. It appears as though they get a rotation of different items in. They have a clearance section and also a Bargain Bin (Similar to the Bargain Cove at Cabelas). I bought my backpack their and 2 days later they were all gone and no longer on the website for sale. Also after you first order you can subscribe to their newsletter. Although they send you an email around once a week, they ALWAYS throw in a 15%-35% discount code. Yes it's obviously a plan to get you to spend more money but that on top of already good prices is a great deal and well worth the couple extra emails in your inbox. Their shipping prices are reasonable. I only paid 8 dollars to ship a big hiking backpack. It is super light, but it was a BIG box. They base the shipping rates on the price of your order. Their rates are similar to Bass Pro Shops :-? . But with outdoor gear you normally have bigger items than fishing gear (I could buy a $400 ocean kayak at STP and they would charge me the same shipping rate as BPS would charge to ship a Shimano Calais) Anyway, enough with my sales pitch... check it out, you wont be disappointed http://www.sierratradingpost.com

Had a great trip to Yosemite :-) (lots of pics)
Thanks for the pics Chris. That really brings me back. I went there last year and did a lot of hiking and photography (I'm not that big into taking pictures, but there is SOOOO much to see, I took a lot of pictures and really got into photography). Besides Yellowstone National Park, it is by far the prettiest National park i've been to (I've been to 10). Were you able to stay in the park, or did you drive in each day? You definately picked the right time to go. This time of year those waterfalls are really flowing. Went there once late in the year and Angel Falls was just about dried up. It is such a pretty place with ALOT to see. Did you do any hiking? The fishing is only good if your really into catching wild fish. Otherwise your right when you say your catching "Hudd" fish lol. Thanks again for sharing... very cool

IS there such a thing
Yes there is, actually there are several from where to choose: Daiwa Presso Daiwa Pixy Daiwa Alphas ( regular, Itö, TypeF, R Edition ) Daiwa Sol Shimano Chronarch 50/51 Mg Shimano Curado 100/101 D Shimano Calcutta TEGT 50 Shimano Conquest 50/51 Shimano Conquest 50/51S Shimano Scorpion 1000/1001 Shimano Scorpion 1000/1001 Mg The problem here is the price, most of them are 200+ bones ( unless you can find them in closeout ), from those the cheapest is the Scorpion. Personally I like this puppy: I own the Curado 100D and use it for all my lightweight BC applications. I have had this reel paired with a Powell 703CB rod and currently have it paired with a Med-Heavy Jig rod rated from 3/8 to 1-1/2oz. I have thrown lures down to 1/4 oz with zero problems and have even thrown 1/8oz kastmasters with VERY little birds nest. I have thrown this reel with either 12# pline CX or 50# suffix braid with 8-20# leader. Now with the new Curado 200E out, you can find the 100D pretty cheap. I know i've been seeing some used ones going for $100 bucks.

what's happened to cali?
Fishing sucks up in Nor Cal compared to last year. The water conditions are actually a little better right now than last year, but last year things were stable. The weather and water levels last year were very stable therefore we were able to find steady bites and patterns. This year we have had 100 degree weather, then it will storm and dump 3 inches of rain, then nice again. The water levels have been raising ALOT. I'll use 1 lake for example, Folsom. We just had a storm a couple weeks ago that dumped LOTS of rain, and raised the lake 10+ feet in a few days. Earlier this year we had a series of storms that raised it 30+ feet in a couple weeks. As we all know, rising water level is tough to deal with. While this is promising for this summer, it made EVERY bite that I was on last year, non-existent this year. Water temps have been on a roller coaster. 60 then 70, then back down to 65, then up to 78... it's insanely stupid. I gave up on bass fishing until things stable a bit. I fished a lot harder this year than I did last year and got nothing in return. So far this year I have 0 fish over 5. Last year at this time I was pushing 15-20 over 5. Last year I had 20-25 swim bait fish at this time, this year I have 1. Last year I had a 9.1 and a 35.1# solo sack by now, this year my biggest is a 4.5 on a hudd. It's been rough and I only know 1 person that is doing better this year than last. I think that once the weather and water stable more, the summer nighttime bite will be GREAT. A Lot of the lakes have trees in the water now, something we haven't seen in years.... so look for some good reports later this year. I've actually been resorting to trout fishing for the last month or so, but come June, I'm becoming nocturnal and will start night fishing ALOT. I've become very discouraged and sold a lot of my gear ( Swim baits, rods, reels, etc) but I'm hoping that the summer is treats me better than the spring. Only time will tell

Random Thoughts
95% of my lures I could care less if I lost them, I can buy more. But I lost a swimbait this year that only a half dozen were ever made. I doubt I could get my hands on another one. I was pretty PO for awhile. I have a couple swimbaits that I would HATE to loose. Yea, I could buy more, but the fact is, I don't want to have to spend another $200 on one lure. Pretty much anything bait below the $30 mark that is readily available on the market, I could care less about loosing. You gotta pay to play! It's funny cause I've been fishing with some buddies that are fairly new to fishing. I was letting them fish with some of my baits and one of them got a rapala crank stuck in a log and lost it. He was so upset that he lost one of my baits. It took him hours for him to get over it. He offered me $15 bucks for the bait. I kept telling him it was no sweat, I could care less. Just tie on another one and move on. He thought I would be PO at him and not let him throw any of my stuff. :

Fighting a swimbait fish
Sounds like your equipment was fine. Sounds like that when you questioned yourself, you gave the fish just enough time to get off. That's just part of the game. It'll happen less and less when you catch more and more fish.

Fighting a swimbait fish
DO NOT PLAY THE FISH... You want to reel so fast that she looks like a buzzbait coming across the top of the water. You'll learn quick how to fight these fish. Right before she comes to the surface, you want to turn her so she can't jump. This is where the right equipment comes into play. Big, strong, swim bait rods like Okuma 7'6 XH or Loomis 955-957, Big reels with lots of #'s of drag (Cardiff 300 or 400, Calcutta 400B). Super strong line (20-30# Pline CXX). Having the proper equipment and the experience of fighting big swim bait fish really helps to not loosing fish. I have been blessed and have never lost a swim bait fish because I have always had the right equipment and 4bizz taught me the proper way to fight a swim bait fish

Counting with pictures
Ok guys, I saw this on other forums, but I have never seen it here, so here we go!!! Heres the deal - Post a picture with a number in it. It can be a number (1) or a word (one). Post a picture containing the next number. It's easy as that. Lets see how far we can take this. I'll start...

How Big is this Bass?
Hmmmm... didn't know there were rules to "How big a fish must be to mount it". :-X Arkbassguy: Good looking fish. I would guess 7ish. Nobody is bashing "YOUR Mount". Their simply stating that the guy who did the mount could have matched it better to your fish. It's still a great looking mount either way. Keep up the good work

American Eagle Clothes
I hope he knows that I'm just joking.... it's just one of those things that will haunt him until somebody else gives us ammunition and we forget about him... until then, let the good times roll 8-) Even though I don't wear AE clothes, I would hope that people would torment me if I was "Forced" to wear them. :
