  1. Clear Lake, Casitas, Castaic, Don Pedro, Camanche, Folsom, Shasta. All these lakes have doubles in it. The lakes are big, but aren't spread out like the delta... whats your excuse for these
  2. A former roommate once swore that some 10 lb + fish he'd seen in a creek pool were crappie. When I corrected him and said they were likely "carp" he acted like I was crazy. Later I confirmed that they were, in fact, carp. Doesn't hurt to check with more than one source. or just compromise and call 'em "Carppie" Forget the compromise... go along with his stupidity and tell him that they are crappie and the world record is only a few pounds. That will get him going ;D I hear that all the time here in Cali too.... mainly from the Trout Guys though.
  3. It's like a plant... your just growing it right?
  4. They do have good customer service. I have never used their online shop, but have visited their Rohnert Park Store here in Cali. VERY knowledgeable workers and they had lots of good stuff in stock. Good swim bait selection as well as Fly and offshore fishing gear.
  5. monster fishing tackle.com (all one word)
  6. Well maybe a lot of money from Ryan.... The rest of us would just laught at it J/K of course
  7. Anything freezing cold and served in a chilled mug. mmmmmmm!
  8. Shimano Crucial DS Series. I own the 7'2" M Spinning version. This is by far one of the best DS rods for the money. And with a great lifetime warranty (Sounds like you could make use of it) it's hard to beat. I broke mine one time. Took it to the store, gave them $15 and I was off with a new one no questions asked. Some prefer the MH, but the M is also a versitile rod. I used it for trout fishing and small jigs/tubs/etc. You won't be dissapointed http://www.***.com/descpageRDSSHIMANO-SCRDSR.html
  9. X2... come see what real fishing is all about By the time the trip rolls around next year, there might not be any fishable water left in California. I can see the Governator auctioning off water rights now... ;D LMAO ;D He's making it easier for you guys... Instead of fishing lakes you guys would fish ponds. Same amount of fish, less water. Should be easier for you right : I've never fished it, but we have the Cal Delta that isn't affected by water shortages. It has lots of big fish and It would be a good place for the 5Th Annual Road trip next year.
  10. Wait..... 4bizz is bass fishing again :-/
  11. X2... come see what real fishing is all about
  12. Dang straight!! We were like fine wine... we got better as time went by. ;D But in all seriousness, that was my first time playing online (Well 30 minutes before I got on with you guys). That's just as tuff as playing Mile High on Veteran. My reflexes are just not fast enough yet. Good times... good times
  13. ;D We will wait for them to quit pouting and we will whoop on them yet again!!!
  14. 5" Pro Worm in "Pro Gold"
  15. GT = branuss04 Fourbizz..... sent you a friends request.
  16. Is your drag buttoned down? What kind of lure/hook are you using? Are you using a "Bill Dance" hookset? 14# braid is pretty light stuff. Remember that it has almost no stretch to it. If your trying to set the hook as hard as you can, I would expect to break off. Or is your using thick hooks. Personally I wouldn't used 14# braid for anything more than a small mosquito dropshot hook. BTW... As far as I know, suffix does not make 14# braid... you might want to double check what # test your using. :-/
  17. I know what you mean, but I will say this: I took a trip this year to a lake that I've always struggled at. Never caught more than 4 fish in a day. Never caught anything over 2#'s. The weather was horrible and none of my go-to baits where getting any love. So after a short hissy fit, I looked into my box and pulled out a tube. I've NEVER caught a fish on a tube, and believe it or not, to that day I had NEVER thrown a tube, yet I bought them and they have sat in my box for a year or so. Anyway I tied one on and ended up having the best day I've ever had at this lake. Landed 10+ and a few over 3#'s. So with that said, when the go-to baits aren't doing their job and the day already sucks, why not throw something random on. I figure that way, at least your learning how to fish new baits and are getting something out of a crappy day of fishing. Just my .02.
  18. LOL, I know, but I needed a long one to go from my bedroom where my hub is at, all the way into my living room where the 360 is. The layout of my apartment is weird, so I needed at least a 25-30ft cable. The size I needed I found for $15-20 but I'm cheap . Jay hooked me up with a 50-60 footer for good measures though.
  19. Hmm your not from cali, so you must be lying. That fish looks 8#'s... TOPS!!! :-X
  20. +1. I use 20# braid to 6-8# floro.
  21. Exactly....and if the memory bothers you, say in 10lb, you could safely go with 8lb in CXX, that's what I crank with, 8lb shallow....10lb medium-deep and spinnerbaits, and have not lost a crank with it yet, have straightened a few hooks with the 10lb. I have been trying out the flouro-clear 12lb on smaller t-rigs but still 15lb for 10'' worms and 17lb for jigs in CXX You can also use the KVD Line conditioner. I use it with 30# CXX and it turns it into spaghetti
  22. There aren't many weather conditions that will keep me off the water. Lighting is one of them though.... I won't mess with that stuff. Other than that I'm on the water rain or shine, that's why they invented rain gear and bilge pumps ;D
  23. It's like comparing dental floss to steel cables ;D CXX is way stronger that CX in the same # test. With that extra strongness comes a thicker line though. With that thicker line comes more memory. BUT.... you have a much stronger line and a more abrassion resistant line. CXX has it's time and place. I would say CX would be a better choice for "Normal" circumstances. As far as sensitivity goes... I'm honestly not sure which one is more sensitive :-/ I only use it for my swimbait line. I use 30# and 25# CXX for two of my swimbait reels. When throwing $75+ swimbaits, I want strong line. ;D P-Line is good stuff though. I started off with it when I first started bass fishing and still used it today... it's good line for the money
