Did you have another hobby besides fishing?
I used to ride dirtbikes pretty heavily. Until mine broke and it was gonna cost 800 bucks. So then I decided to start fishing again because I didn't have to spend any much money.......... hmmmmm........ come to think of it, that plan really didn't work to well :-?. I could have bought my 2008 KTM by now.

Powell vs. Dobyns
I accidently deleted my last post. I'm not a big smallie fisherman so i can't help you there, but as far as powell rods and dobyns rods being started by the same person, as my knowledge serves me, gary dobyns built powell max rods, then moved on to his own company, dobyns rods. I hear that the dobyns are better balanced than the powell and have a better warrany(20 bucks). Basically in the same price range as well. Might as well just buy one of each.

Post Pics of your Bass Rig
Here is my first and current boat. It's 4bizzs' old boat. a 1969 Chrysler 16ft. Here is a pic of when I first got it and started working on it. Here it is after most of the work. I've done some stuff since this pic, but nothing major. It's no eye turner, but it floats and runs. That's all I need for now.

Possible great news ! :-)
Well Chris, have you told ryan about it yet, i'm sure he will be stoked. Glad to see you found someone to get er done after a year of looking. Maybe you'll catch that 10+ and have to wait another year to get a replica.

What does your gear/tackle bag weigh???
That's funny that this was brought up cause the other night I asked my girlfriend to take my tackle bags into the bedroom and she couldn't lift it, so i decided to weigh it. Main bag weighs 30#'s and then the swimbait bag/plastic's bag weights 11. Like everybody else, it doesn't include the backup tackle.

What's the biggest bass you ever caught
I'm not even going to post mine under yours bizz. It will make mine look even smaller. You look like one of those scary clowns from the circus, but after catching that hog, it's all good Mine is 5-8

Finally got a fish finder
I just got a Lowrance X96 and went to go mess around with it when I realized that this is not like my 50$ POC fishfinder. There are a ton of features I need to learn. So i've been studying the manual.

best trolling motor battery
I got a wal-mart battery. With a 1 year warranty, it's basically like a disposable battery. I went with a 29 series Deep cycle and never had it go dead one me even after a full day fishing. I have a MG 50#. As far as a charger, i need a new one too.

House brand equipment Likes and dislikes
I like the BPS house brand better than cabela's. I own a BPS extreme 7' MH and a BPS tourney BC (not paired together) I was suprised at how these have done to the abuse i've given them. the rod has undergone me throwing SB's rated 2.5 times heavier than the rod guidlines and it still kicks but. The reel is unbelievably smooth for a reel under 50 bucks. I bought it for my dad, but am thinking about buying one myself for a trunk reel.

any record holders out ther?
They had two 9+'ers caught there during the press day last week before it opened to the public. What a good way to start the season for that lake. That lake is going to be pretty heavily fished this year.

Interesting places you've been
Over the last 3 or so years I've done some cool trips. Me and my parents went on a 2 week trip from sacramento, to salt lake city (Not much to see anymore). Then went to yellowstone (One of the coolest places ever, so much to see), down to denver, then to the grand canyon(you gotta do the donkey trip to the bottom), crossed over to las vegas(sin city for sure) and then back home. what a great trip. My last trip, which is to this day the best trip of my life, was to alaska on the Kenai Peninsula with my dad. One week fishing in the heart of alaska. What more could one ask for. Picture of our second day of Halibut fishing. I never knew fishing could be so exhausting. My dad fighting his 40#er. Nothing big, but the smaller one's like that are better eating My Kenai King Salmon. We hit the salmon run a couple weeks to late, but I was able to pick up a 30#. Then my avatar is another halibut trip in the cook inlet. Many Many more great pics, but you get the point. I wanna go back sooooo bad. We did meet up with the owners of the lodge we stayed at at a local the ISE here in sac and talked to them for awhile. They said they would give us a discount if we came back again. I was ready to give them my credit card the second they said that.

crakbait rods
I got the Powell 704CB and have no complaints, It's light, somewhere around 4 oz. Don't know if it compares with loomis, but it easy on the wallet.

Lure wieght and Rod rating.
It can be done, but if your rod breaks, don't tell us we didn't tell you so. I think as long as it's only 3/4 oz you'll be allright, any heavier and you might have problems. For a whole day i was throwing a 2.5 oz swimbait with a rod rated for 1oz. Probably wasn't the best idea, but it casted like a dream.
-
line capacity question
Gotta agree with pfluemis. while 8 would be no problem, 10 might work, but above that, don't do it. IMO

Headlamps
I have this one, it's a great light for the price, but I don't like the fact that you have to cycle through all of the modes to get to the red light.

dropshot combo
I have a Tierra 2000 matched with the 7'2" M crucial drop shot. Haven't used it yet, but it feels like a sweet combo. Can't wait till I get my boat back on wednsday to use it.
