Spinnerbait rod??
Either a 7'3" MH Carrot for windy days and long casts when I need to be able to hit them hard to make up for the line. Or a 6'9" MH Carrot for roll casting them to docks and under things.

Lilly pad lures
Go Skinny Dippin... :-X Second choice would be a jig.

Strike King 3X Chunk
They do the trick but even the full size are a little small for my liking. I went over to Paca's and Chiggers. On little finesse jigs they are OK though, but sometimes the claws to do sit up and float. There are better options out there imo. And don't let the 3x thing fool you, you will still go through them.

Carrot stix, Team Daiwa Tierra spinning combo
The best Carrot spinning combo I have felt is Matt 5.0's Sol. Thing is just sick, and almost matches. My spinnng Carrot's all have Abu Cardinal center drags, but if I could, they would all be Sol's.

B.A.S.S. University
It was a good time, too bad they did away with it. Gave me something to look forward to fishing related during winter. I liked hearing the stories more than their tips and such. For the most part it was already known info to most and stuff you read in the magazines. Most would never give up any top secret infio and they did A LOT of product pushing. But Gerald Swindle is probably one of the funniest guys on the planet.

FLW + Coangler netting = LAME
So if I hook a fish and rip him out of some slop should I just bring it home and eat it too? :-?

bottom composition for the spawn
The sandy bottom makes their beds easy to see as it is just a large white ring. But I have found the bigger smallies will acctually have rocks in their bed for some reason. You will see a perfect white ring, with a few rocks the size of baseballs in them. Not sure if it is for them to hit against to make the eggs come out easier or what. But if I'm bed fishing and come across a smallie over 3.5 pounds, 9/10 times it will have rocks in the middle of its bed. Bassectomy and I realized it this year on one lake, then began noticing it on all lakes. Even on George and Champlain.

Medium heavy rod OK for frog fishing??
Just let me know, I will send him is first spool. ;D

bottom composition for the spawn
They will spawn anywhere. Cement stairs leading into the water is one place I can always find a fish bedding. They will acctually have their eggs on one of the stairs. My second most common place to find bedding fish are in old prop-wash holes near docks.

I know it's Christmas time and that whole "seeing is believing" thing is supposed to not apply, but come on. Atleast Santa leaves you something under the tree. ;D

Oklahoma vs Florida
Gator's are gonna win, no question about it.

Quality vs. Quantity
I like big ones, but some 12" fish have made me some money at times as well.

To rattle or not to rattle, that is the question.
Up here those smallies are so aggressive, put a bait within 10' of them and they will find it. I don't see a need for it. The only time I notice a difference is if the rattle comes off my jig if I'm river fishing for them, the bite will really slow down for me until I notice it came off. Put on a new jig and they eat it up again.

are worms and jigs enough or do i need a lot of other lures
x2 A jig is my work-horse most of the year. But finesse fishing small plastics is a close second.

Your favorite way to pitch/flip
Forget flipping and pitching and just learn how to skip the jigs and t-rigs that are pegged. Sometimes flipping will still be needed for some applications but skipping under obstacles instead of over will make getting the fish out easier, and you have much more control of the situation. I go with a 7'3" MH Carrot for most applications with a high-speed revo and either 17 pound Trilene 100%(for lighter cover) or 65 pound Power Pro for the nasty stuff. If using a t-rig I like just big worm hooks, no wide-gaps.

inflatable PFD's - Mustang, Sospenders, etc.
As fishfordollars said, even though you have the SOSpends or something, you still need a regular life jacket for everyone on board. And I believe the rule is 16 and under cannot wear them in most states.
