If I remember correctly, isn't the brush guard made of different material. My problem with the evolution jig was that the guard was too soft for fishing brush and they would get hung up very easily. Didn't have that issue witht the jig-x. Also where you tie the knot is much different.

I dont know about those deals, thats more of a salesman deal than a sponsership. With past and present deals I have had, it has always been based on my fishing-ability and image. If you have a good reputation and can fish that will take you pretty far imo.

The highest they get around here is about $150. And that is the biggwst tourney in RI, it is 100 boats on a 650 acre reservoir and first takes about $5,500. Besides that everyone just fishes little 10-20 boat pick up tourneys after work, they are ones just about every night of the week and usually go from about 5pm-9pm. Its just laid back and a good time.

Let the fish tell you what they want, if they are grabbing the trailer and not the jig, go lighter. I usually stick to a 3/8 oz jig, but will go heavier for deeper water or heavier cover. I use a heavier jig when I'm dragging it so I maintain bottom contact.

There is only one spot you need in CT to catch fish and big ones at that, and it never freezes. Hint: Starts with a waterfall in Voulantown, connects a chain of lakes, is "OVER-looked", and you bette rhave tin to fish it.

Hate to admit it but I would to. Also like to see what Ricky Williams could do if he could stay "low" and healthy. Pac-Man Jones as well. These guys have amazing talent, they get the fortune and fame, and they ruin it all with stupid moves. Too bad, but they have no one to blame but themselves.

I have it coming off the top on both reels when I reline them. Remember fluoro is almost invisible under water, so you can get away with using heavier line.

When I do it I have it so the line is coming off the top of the spool. Never had an issue. As for too light on baitcasters, is it loose on the spool? constant backlashes? There should always be tension on the line when reeling it in and fluoro should be put on tight, imo, like braid. Also how the line is coming off the spool could have something to do with how it, play with your magentic brake and spool tension. I had issues when I first started with it, since I started really paying attention to the adjustments on my reel, I have not had a problem since.

I'm sure these pro's will be getting a talking to from certain big wigs, though. Wouldn't be surprised if they are fishing FLW with in the next few years, lol. Couldn't Ike fishing with all those laid back guys though. Him and Dudley would be the most hated pro's in bass fishing.

Spot removers are amazing best one I have used, but Brent's are looking pretty sweet. Might have to get some. Second choice, jigfish.com. Knuckleads for little worms and "finesse pitchin" beavs and super hogs.

-Nope dont bother till the night before you go out. -I put new line on 4 times fishing or everytime after I fish a rocky lake. So I change my line atleast once a week. But I'm just OCD about it too. You can go much longer though, I just have a sponser deal so I'm able to go through line and do not have to pay for most of it. -I go with bulk spools, usually about 800 yards, but I go through it quick. -Shelf life I'm not sure of but there is a big differnece in old/unused line and new/unused line. -Either or, machine when I have one around.

Nothing wrong with introducing someone to the great outdoors but, I thing 5 is a little young to be shooting bears and not sure but as RW said, I dont think it is legal. The fellow you describe is the same fellow I fished with in my one and only club tournament! I would NEVER consider doing that again. I had the same first experience, so I went out and boought a boat I could fish tourney's in. My best investment to this date. When you have control over the day, it is a much better experience.

IMO I don't think any flouro on a spinning rod is "user friendly" but if you put the line on the reel corrctly which most do not, and "troll with it" and put the line on with tension, the Hybrid is not all the bad.
