A heat gun or blow drier and a paint scraper or something along those lines will get the glue off. Also to add on to what Zel said, don't forget about the headaches and frustrations that come along with a project like this. My dad and I have had first hand experience with these types of projects and needless to say, things dont always go as planned or like you want. Good luck with it though, when you finish it, it will mean a lot more to you than just a boat.

The hardest thing to do with a jig is catch your first fish. Keep it simple, 1/4 oz, black with black trailer. And with all the rocks in your lake, go for a football head design. Yup, even in the inlets of Champlain you can get 4-5 footers and the main lake can be 7-8 footers. Erie is the same way. If you are running in a boat that isn't glass or under 18 feet, I would advise to stay away from these lakes because it can be calm as glass in the morning and a few hours later you cannot get back. Any wind on Champlain straight from the north or south is deadly.

Don't hear the term dink too much, it's usually always "rats". Maybe it is a RI thing. But anyway a rat or dink is anything under a pound and a half, b/c a pound an a half fish is usually the average fish up here.

Jerkbaits, inline spinners, tubes and jigs always do the trick

Erie of course, the Detroit River, Mallets Bay/Burlington,VT on Champlain, and Sacandaga, NY. Sacandaga has been the place for the last couple of RI TBF/BASS SQT's. It is untouched, no pressure, beautiful, and the average smallie is over 2.5 pounds. To give you an idea of the # of 2-3 pound smallies, in one of the tournaments after the first day places 1-47 were all seperated by two pounds. Everyone had 5 fish for inbetween 10-12 pounds. It was just crazy.

If you dont want to travel too much, head to Ticonderoga,NY. The southern part of Champlain is amazing in the summer months. You wont find many fish over 8 pounds like in Cali but you will find a ton of 4-6 pound largies.

When it comes to the sponsers, I'm sure after seeing the attention BASS is getting these days they are just dying to hop on the bandwagon. Are they trying to make B.A.S.S. go belly-up? Or has it already???? :-?

Jets, Fish, and Eli's gang. I dont know if they can be beat. But then again their toughest game of the year was against the Ravens last week so who knows. Everyone is happy of course because it's Christmas but there is a little bit of chaos and panic mixed in because Santa did not label things rights or forgot the batteries and the bulldog is trying to get the ripped off wrapping paper out of the garbage to play with it. he's right. somebody brought their pickup in our shop the other day. i didnt recognize the look of the bed lining, but it looked real good. when he came to pick his truck back up, i asked hime about the bedliner. he said he did it himself, all bought from autozone, and costs him roughly $175. i swear, it looked professional. it was the first time he had ever attempted to doing any kind of bed lining too. I did my Ford with Dura-Liner from Autozone, I did it myself and it came out good. Just should have added another layer or two. It has been a year and it hasnt faded and is still in good shape for the abuse I give it. Worth the sweat and $150.

The one thing I will say it is all who you draw for a boater. He determines your day. You can end up with a guy who will back boat you all day long, not help with the net, and is miserable. Or you get the fun loving guy that will tell you everything he knows about fishing and shows good sportsmanship. I personally have had too many of the first types and will not fish a tourney unless I'm a boater. But I have had some real fun experiences as well. Also in some tourney's, the boater and non boater are required to split the day in half. Their half of the time includes where they want to fish and travel time is included in their half of the time. But in some tournaments the co-angler is not allowed to step foot on the front deck or else the team is DQ'd. Being a co-angler is one of those things you just have to try to figure out if you like it or not.

It's great that even B.A.S.S. Pro's such as these three have stepped up to the plate and voiced there disapproval. Hopefully ESPN/B.A.S.S. is realizing what a dumb move this is and will do something about it. I just wonder where Mr.Ray Scott is and his opinion on this???? :-?

23 months is a good FAIR sentance, imho. If he plays again, I doubt he will be any good and most are saying he wouldnt return as a QB because of the time off, but possibly a running back.
