  1. That's pretty bad. I hate animal neglecters and abusers. Almost as bad are the a.s.s-hats I deal with. They have pitbulls, rottweilers, akitas, etc. They usually get them from rescues. They don't know anything about them. They bring them home. And in a short time they chew some kid's face off. Then they ask me, "are my insurance rates going up?"
  2. Penn Slammer 360-560, depending on the size you prefer. Maybe the best spinning reels out there for saltwater striper fishing. Penn Slammer
  3. I currently own 6 Revos (2 STX, 2 SX, 2 SC) and they are the best reels I've owned. I plan on adding 2 more to replace some Curados I just sold. Smooth, built exceptionally well, cast great. And if something does go wrong, Abu's customer service is outstanding.
  4. Check the schematics on the Revo S and S-L and see of the gear and pinion part numbers are the same. If so, it probably can be done.
  5. According to the fellers at Tackle Tour, Pinnacle makes BPS baitcast reels. I only own one one BPS reel, a spinning reel, and I'm very happy with it. The new Johnny Morris Elite spinning reels are really cool, and some of the smoothest I've ever cranked, bar none. I know a few guys with some higher end BPS baitcasters and I've heard no complaints. In fact, they like them very much. From what I've seen, they are as well made as any reel out there.
  6. Cool! Robert, I hope it's a smashing success!
  7. or a girlfriend. :-/ I thought you had a girlfriend, a real looker, too.
  8. Muddy, why not Virginia? I know we have some Job Corps centers in the western part of the state. You'd be looking at a 1/2 day drive to NYC. Some great fishing out that way, too. Great state. Great climate. And you'd be near Burley.
  9. Seems like it should just be the pinion gear and drive gear. But IIRC someone at Tackle Tour said it required a few other parts, maybe some washers or something.
  10. I'm waiting for an update on 5BL's conversion, too. Right now I'm seriously considering ordering some 4.7:1 gears for my Abu EXT Pros.
  11. I'd go with the Record. The C3 is a classic reel. The Record is a nicer upgrade with an effective brake and bearings where they count - 2 spool, 1 shaft end, 2 on the level wind, 1 anti-reverse. Given that this reel has a non-disengaging level wind, the bearings in the level wind will help with casting distance. Not to disparage the C3, but if you buy the C3 you may wish you bought the Record. If you buy the Record, you'll never want for the C3. Here's a record review. Abu Garcia Record Review
  12. These landings at St. Maarten Int'l Airport are nuts. http://view.break.com/350055
  13. Regarding line: I've tried braid and fluoro, and some higher end mono, and always seem to go back to Stren Original or Trilene XL. I've never fond anything that works as well in as many different situations.
  14. Thanks for the replies.

    Hi.
  16. I'm an insurance claims examiner. I (among a few others) handle my company's largest claims. I investigate claims (injury or personal liability), deterime liability, evaluate claims, negotiate settlements, and direct the legal defenses of people being sued.
  17. What do you fish with when no one is looking?
  18. Sabiki rigs are great for catching herring for striper bait, too.
  19. Never saw it. Thanks!! I tried to delete this thread and it just deleted my message.
  20. I've had quite a bit of luck burning lipless cranks. But I don't think I've ever seriously tried it with lipped cranks. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, was it productive? Under what circumstances?
  21. Night is the best time anyway. My dad and I used to pull all-nighters on the piers at the Naval Weapons Station just up the road (when they used to let fishermen out there). It seems night time always produced better than daytime.
  22. Abu Garcia 600 ALB. Good construction, good drag, great bearings. $79.00
  23. As Al Bundy once said, "Pretty women make me buy beer. Ugly women make me drink beer." Seriously though. I don't drink beer anymore. But i used to like Old Milwaukee. It was a actually a very good beer. Most of the time you saw it in big bottles wrapped in a brown paper bag. But it was good beer.
