Rage Tail Baits
My favorite is the Space Monkey. It has been, and continues to be, my top producer this year. It also produced my biggest fish this year. The Space Money is very versatile. You can run it on the surface like a frog, or rigged on a lightly weighted hook you can swim it just under the surface.

Wife...and yes, it's a rant.
Burley, where ya been, man? Nice meeting you in the feminine hygene aisle the other day.

Wife...and yes, it's a rant.
That is the first thing that popped into mind. She was gone for a week and she comes back and is changed and looking for ways to pick a fight. Usually when that happens they are feeling guilty for something they did. Or more likely, she came home and the same dishes that were in the sink when she left were still there. Laundry wasn't done. House not vacuumed. Lawn not cut. But that bass boat was freshly waxed.

Wife...and yes, it's a rant.
With wives, you can either be right, or you can be happy. I'm betting happy is what you really prefer. You did something, or you are not doing something. A little time, attention, maybe a night out, a little more help around the house. A little less playing with your boat and fishing gear. Before you jump down my throat and tell me that you do everything around the house and what a good fella you are - I already know that. Obviously, your wife is getting the wrong impression of you. YOU have to fix that.

My Family's First Boat
I'll have to ask my dad if he remembers. It may be a Chris Craft.

Lake Maury, Newport News Va
I sent you a PM, but for the benefit of everyone else... Lake Maury is owned by Mariners Museum. Due to budget cuts, the lake was closed for several years. There were no boats, not even rentals, allowed on the water. The only fishing allowed was near the boat rental house. Only in the last year or so has the museum started renting boats again. So now people can get back out on the water. My understanding is that the lake is very healthy and is producing some big bass. I haven't fished in since before it closed. But I will this season - hopefully. I'm betting it is a killer lake.

My Family's First Boat
That's my dad, and my oldest sister. Circa 1955. I have no idea what make that boat is, but have to say, that's one heavy duty trailer. I like the straps holding it to the bumper ;D. I only have the vaguest memory of that little runabout.

Mattaponi River, VA
They were probably catfishing. The Mat isn't all the great from what I understand. From the 2009 Bass Outlook report from the DGIF... 6 Mattaponi: Very low bass catch rates during electrofishing surveys, with the highest catches of largemouth concentrated from just above Aylett to several river miles downstream of Walkerton. In the short-term, anglers should not expect big things of largemouth from this river.

Little Creek Reservoir, James City Co., VA
I went out this evening for 2 hours. I drop-shot fished around the fishing pier. Caught five. This one being the biggest. I made quite a spectacle of myself bringing this fish in. I was quite the contortionist trying to keep this fish out of the pier pilings. I was fishing with 6lb test and the drag set pretty low.

Falcon Rods - Lookin' darn good these days
I've never owned a Falcon. I've heard good things about them though. I started perusing their site and see that they've changed the look of a couple of models (Expert, Cara), and added a new model - to compete with the Mojo, no doubt. May have to start giving this brand a try. New model... Bucoo Their "Trade Up" program seems pretty cool. Seems like a nice deal for some folks that already have some older, aging rods they are looking to replace... Trade Up Program

PETA Protest
When I was in college, PETA was protesting in front of Silverman Furs. Girls there were in body suits holdings signs saying, "We'd rather be naked..." Some of us guys stood across from them with signs saying "We'd rather you be naked, too!" ;D

Super, giant, jumbo plastic worm like 2 1/2 feet long?
That might be it. It looks like it. There were two different lengths, same manufacturer. That looks like the shorter of the two. The other one was every bit of 2 feet, maybe more.

Super, giant, jumbo plastic worm like 2 1/2 feet long?
I saw some of these plastic baits in my local tackle shop. They are huge. They come one worm to a pack. They actually come in a plastic tube, not a bag. Price was $5.95. For the life of me I can't remember who makes them. Any ideas?

COD: Modern Warfare 2
That seems to be going around. My youngest son's 360 crapped out (no picture). For $99 I sent it in and got it back working, with a 1 year warranty. No mhy oldest son's is in the process of crapping out (black or white dots all over the screen). So, there goes another $99.

Deep Crankin Reel.
Do yourself a favor and get yourself a Shimano Curado 200DPV. Ratio is 5.0:1. There are still plenty of them loafing around in stores (a store near me still has some new Curado Bs). Now that the Curado E is out, you can get super-steep discounts on the 200DPV - well under $100. These are solid, smooth reels that cast all weights of baits well.

I can't really think of a title for this..."The Greatest Combo Ever," maybe?
What I think is equally refeshing is that a guy who is new to the sport and never fished went right for the Steez. BTW, hang onto that Steez reel. If you practice with it and get good at it, you'll already own one of the best there is.
