  1. Unless you are seeing other dead fish, then I would say someone is on a crusade.
  2. The Toro and the Inshore really aren't in the same class of reels. The Inshore is a pretty standard sized bass-fishing type baitcaster. The Toro is bigger, heavier reel that is more robust and intended for heavier applications. The Insore, like most baitcasters in its class, has a disengaging level wind. The Toro's level wind stays engaged. The Toro also has a clicker. If you are going to use the reel for bass, and redfish, trout or other inshore saltwater species, the Inshore is the ticket. If you need a reel to cast really heavy baits, or want to tangle with big redfish and striped bass, the Toro is probably the better option. The Toro, IMO, is just too big and heavy to be an all around bass baitcaster.
  3. I've been looking for a decent, inexpensive reel for panfishing. A local dealer had a new Lew's Speed Spin LSS2R reel that had been in stock for about 10 years. Never even been opened. Let me have it for $26. I know it's not the old Japanese made reel (this one I made in Korea). But everything on it seems nicely finished. It is very smooth. Inside the spool is very nicely machined. The body and rotor are aluminum, the bail arms are graphite. Came in with the manual and spare graphite spool. Even the box is still shiny new. But was it worth $26? http://bzty5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pCGIRZVb4Y2tGkvPdyfBUFEs8bpsM2bTXB4PupyxiGtKFAEPP_qgx8ryp0tfJeF49jSeBJjqBjkF7EpTAtgp_cACE2OW02LPA/LSS2R_2.jpg http://bzty5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1p_BndLGjjgzSR-YaIc9fm5lYmR4E7NTKS2kEM6xHnicP2eWiQZlCWMa36MsB7CCrC1i4hmckHJy8EOzBj4A5eeerEj3mR0H69/LSS2R_3.jpg
  4. I found these deeply discounted. So I bought a bunch of them. They are big, fat cranks that dive to 9 ft. They have no rattles. Has anyone used them? Are they any good? I can't find the Fat CB DRs on LCs website. Have they been discontinued?
  5. 24 inches is a darned big pickerel. Congrats on that. A lot of people around here don't like them but I love them.
  6. HOOKER BAIT & TACKLE 7828 Richmond Rd. Toano, VA. 23168 Phone 757-566-9050 Fax 757-566-9052 $119. Pretty good price. Here's their site (it's under construction): http://hookerbaitandtackle.net/store/category/81
  7. What's moderately priced? This is a super nice reel. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCDAIWA-TDACA.html
  8. Check this site before going. http://newweb.erh.noaa.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=akq&gage=rmdv2&view=1,1,1,1,1,1,1,0 Until the water gets below 4 ft, wading is hard. It usually does not get below 4 feet until later in the summer and early fall.
  9. Heard these reels are being discontinued and that they are now on sale at good discounts. Sure enough, BPS has them for $50 off.
  10. If you haven't bought one, don't. A few years ago the blue Browning Citori was essentially a Pflueger reel. Made in Korea, nicely made, smooth, with a good drag and quality components. It was a fantastic reel. I ended up giving it to a young fisherman to start him out. A year or so ago, I acquired one of the new Citoris. Darker blue, more blingy, and made in China. This thing was in no way similar to the old Citori. This thing was garbage. I decided to take it smallmouth fishing since my reels that do that get some abuse. However, this one didn't. Half way through the day, the reel got almost impossible to crank. I gave up on it and went to a back-up reel. When I got home, I opened the reel up. I found that a little brass washer had gotten chewed up on the shaft and actually got drawn into the guts of the reel. I opened up the part that holds the anit-reverse and found metal shavings in the bearing. So, if you can find one of the old ones on sale, they are great reels. I saw some for sale in my local BPS or like $39 (normally $99). Or just get a Pflueger. But avoid the new Citoris like the plague. They are garbage unworthy of the Browning name. Here is what the old ones looked like. Forgive the picture, the reel wasn't the subject...
  11. Hell yes it's a good bait. Best bait in the Rage Tail line-up. I fish them on an weighted Owner Twist Lock hook, 4/0, 1/8 oz. This keeps the bait upright. It also makes it sink, slowly. It will sink horizontally. You can fish it fast, slow, buzz it on the surface, or slow swim it a few feet down. A VERY versatile bait. Here's a fish showing the bait and the hook I use... http://bzty5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pD0U1t4getsuiq80jnn5cibj9p6CEtOcXpw6UtfSi15bB2Wbs-TQQBjYWaKaZNC7_KFoBfCvWLpo8pB0GIrwrKw/031.jpg
  12. The Berkleys work great. I use them weightless. I hook them a little differently. I hook them through the side at about mid body. I cast them out and twitch them back. I've caught a lot of fish this way.
  13. I'd go with the Prodigy. It has a nicer drag adjustment and just feels better overall. I have a 500 ALB. It's a nice reel, and very tough. But it is not very refined.
  14. In 1997 she posed for Playboy. At 50 she was stunning. Absolutely stunning. BTW, the glass cutters she sports on her poster - I always thought they were enhanced. They weren't.

I agree, to a certain extent. NK is no Iraq. NK has a huge, motivated army that will fight to the death. I have no doubt about that. Their country is a fortress. NK will simply go underground. NK would be a meat grinder if war broke out. Anyone that thinks NK would be a walk-over is deluding themselves. NK's fighter bombers are minutes from Seoul. They have long range artillery that can reach Seoul. They have huge stokpiles of biological and chemical weapons. Now they have nukes. Not many probably, but enough to do unimaginable damage. Nevertheless, NK would lose a war. South Korea is likewise highly motivated, better fed, better equipped, and backed by the US. War should be avoided to the extent we can. But we cannot give in to their blackmail and threats.

You guys that haven't downloaded Google Earth ought to. You can really see just how friggin' crazy this regime is. Pyongyang is ringed, and I mean ringed, with AAA. So are most of the major cities. The islands are covered with artillery emplacements. The countryside is literally covered in burial mounds - uncountable numbers - most of whom agree belong to famine victims. They've got bunkers all over the country. There is a military airstrip that runs through (not over or around) a mountain. Ancient fighers sitting on airstrips. In contrast, Pyongyang has a weird rollercoast, palaces for Kim Jong il, a goofy golf course with trees in the middle of the fairways, weird street intersections. This regime is nuts. Here's a few of the anti-aircraft artiller sites around the major cities. http://bztv5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1p_6w-TKi2akXF_HIAb8laNzxbvTM2uWX9AVkt4u-OTIGqDf94a9V9HuQVXTIwETw3lhjKYsNNGGgXCQ_jkYZl5zJO6kVFuJpz/A_few_AAA_sites.jpg Close up. http://bztv5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pZl6nDHN1hMRc3ub3mVwFITkem-decfkThAHZBN7q7bKpzDbkzEMFBcMTxj4dMTaL1TgjjG1oCXmEs6HJ3ac8QVGuEdO5hnSE/Typical_AAA_site.jpg Fortified islands. http://bztv5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pExtNtgQ_n9SBfYkHA_zXxVKS5Qz97Fhv5Xg-CUAIbR7uutmAtdylxpBH04Xxv0ptDQoqZHQ05I8wggCW7nGaNmNdvcfGNXn3/artillery.jpg Airstrip that goes through a mountain. http://bztv5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pboGSU9mcYd8fYTt-_5i5KiUJrBFf0hfMlpGVOYCFKWuqHv_LA0wPzPOXuE7RpDotnrPJdJxw__x1KU9lmHnBAUMz-wMGq8Q5/bizarre_airstrip.jpg Mig 21s. 21. I've never used a Pro Max, but the fact is has a "polymeric" frame would make me get the Revo S. The Revo is bullet proof.
