what is this thing?
I've seen Toadfish sitting on their beds even as the tide pulled out and left them in the mud. Very hardy fish. It has venomous spines, be careful. A stick is extremely painful. If you get a big one, and can clean it without getting stuck, they are excellent foodfish.

Rage Toad/Shad problems
I don't want to change the subject, but I just went to Gammy 7/0 Monster EWGs for the 10" Annie and they work great.

CAPITULATION!
I don't think the Dow and S&P will drop too much further. I think they will turn around soon. IMO, now's the time to buy. I hope so, since I dumped some fixed rate fund shares and put the money, as well as some cash, into diversified funds, small cap funds and s&p index funds. I think we are going to see some kind of leveling out here soon, then some waxing and waining, followed by relatively steady growth back to where the markets were, and hopefully past that. May take a few months for that process to get underway, but I think the bottoming-out is about to happen.

New South Park on tonight!
I agree, Burles. The WoW episode is a perfect example - totally engrossed in one story line.

I hadn't seen the video. That's cool!

Revo S's For $69
Probably making room for the upgraded Revo S. All Revos now have the XCraftic aluminum frame and HPCR bearings, including the Revo S.

Opinions on the Sebile Proppler
When I first saw it I thought the white mouse looking thing wobbled in the water - like a Jitterbug - which I thought might impart a pretty neat action to the jig below. But the thing actually spins. I guess I'm going to have to get one and see how well it works.

Contest Lure Review: Sebile Crankster
If I can find any of these locally, I'm going to pick up a few. Nothing like trying them for oneself.

Handling mudfish
The Earth CAN NOT be only 6,000 years old. Muddy has underwear that is over 1.7 billion years old. So the Earth is at least that old.

im done
Bah! Those instructions sounded like their way to get you to just suck it up. Are you going to go to all that trouble to get a lure replaced? I like Rapala, but if I break one it goes in the trash.

Has anyone fished this bait? Opinions?

Rage Toad/Shad problems
Net Bait's Frog is another excellent bait. More of a finesse frog. I rig them with 2/0 Spiral Lock Owners. Fish grab and don't let go.

Pflueger Patriach gets a "Good" Review
I think it's low, too. TT's "pros" are substantial, and their "cons" are trivial. The only really significant issue is the lack of a lefty, and 7-8 lbs of drag, which I think is a wee bit low (JM Elite makes 14 lbs, I think). If the Patriach casts anything like my JM Elite reel did, then it is absolutely competive with the Abu and Shimanos in the same price range. The Partriarchs I've seen were flawless in their finishes, inside nd out. I think the reel deserved a higher score. But hey, there is no denying that site is really a mecca for the Shimano/Diawa crowd.

Pflueger Patriach gets a "Good" Review
Actually, under TT's scoring system, the reel did very well. http://tackletour.com/reviewpfluegerpatriarch.html For those of you who haven't tried a Pflueger, I will say it's got one of the best brakes I've ever tried. I had a Johnny Morris Elite reel with the same brake and it is the only one I could set so that once I took my thumb off the spool at the beginning of the cast, I didn't really have to use it again. I got super long casts and the best brake controlability of any reel I've ever tried (to include Revos and Curados). Nice looking reel, too, the Patriach.

Rage Toad/Shad problems
Reluctantly, I have to agree. I rig mine the same as I rig Zooms, with a 5/0 Spiral Lock Owner hook. Unless I'm buzzing it hell-bent-for-leather with a high rod tip the toads seem to roll over. Pausing them makes for a frog sitting on its side. Starting the retrieve again sometimes causes the rog to retrieve upside down. Big-O sent me some new Ragetails to try before they hit the shelves. They are amazing baits and I'm grateful. I give all the ones I've tried thusfar A+. But all the toads I've tried seem to have this characteristic. I think it could be the best buzzing frog out there if it weren't for this issue.

got my first high end lure
Hookers is a one of our local tackle/baits shops that carries high end tackle - rods, reels, lures... They carry a full line of Megabass, Lucky Craft (Japanaese and American), OSP, Deps, Ima, Jackall, RICO, etc. They've been around for awhile, but they've just started a website. here it is. It's very much under construction so if you want to order something it's best to call them for now. http://hookerbaitandtackle.net/

Favorite shaky head plastics?
Berkley Shaky Worms and Roboworm straight tails on Owner Ultraheads. The Robos are amazing and are very bouyant.

Lost Drag Power?
I use Abu Oil and Grease. You can find this anywhere. I've seen it in Walmart. If you reassembled the reel properly, then I agree with the previous poster that you probably got oil or too much grease on the drag. I'd disassemble it and clean the disks with a dry cloth. What I have found to be effective is to lightly grease the drag stack bed that is on the main gear, then lightly grease each metal washer in the stack then the underside of the top cupped washer. I don't put grease on the actual fiber discs. When I say lightly grease, I mean putting some grease on your finger and thumb and massaging it onto those parts I mentioned so that they are very lightly coated. This will make for a very smooth drag while still being able to generate a lot of drag pressure. I have found that too much grease on the drag stack makes the disks "hydroplane" on each other. Very smooth, but very little usable drag pressure.
