  1. Do they have a wider wobble than the Rat-L-Trap?
  2. Daiwa Peanut The wobble is wide for a small crank, but I don't like much else. The hooks are trash and they are placed close enough together that they were constantly hooking each other. I haven't had a problem with the finish on mine, but I like the finish of norman's better. I wouldn't consider it a great leap above a bandit or bomber either. If it's still in the package, leave it in there. If you took it out, put it back in. Return it and get something from norman, bandit, bomber.... etc.
  3. Fishing report for 11/4/07 Fishing center open at 7 am. Rentals in by 4pm. Gate locked at 4:30 Water Temp: Start 62 End 61 Partly Cloudy, Wind NW 2mph - very small white caps. The hydrilla is starting to die off on the shady/western banks. Still thick and green in deeper water on the other side. This was my second time fishing the Loch and I had a tough go of it. The constantly changing light and wind conditions kept me off center for most of the day. The sun would come out and the wind would die off, 10 minutes later the sun is behind a cloud and the wind would come right back up. Maintaining boat position was tough!! I landed two lmb that were a little over a pound each. Both very chunky and aggressively hitting my lures. I got to swing on a big one while using a frog in the slop, but missed. I caught throwing a rapala husky jerk size 10 in baby bass and a perch minnow rap. I was fishing as close to the green hydrilla as I could, while running the lures at depth. Couldn't pull anything out of the few rocky points/drop offs and am bummin. I talked to some guys who had a small aircraft carrier with ALL of the fixings for a reservoir boat. They caught a bunch throwing a 4" watermelon with red fleck senko (color 208 I believe), a jig and pig of unspecified color, and crankbait of unspecified color. I don't know where they were fishing. I might be going again next weekend, anyone else? Cory
  4. That sounds like an easy and good idea to tell the not so obvious depths apart.
  5. Thanks for the vote of confidence bassboy
  6. The plot thickens... I heard about this boat from my friend, who said that someone he worked with was trying to sell it. This is true, the seller of the boat is someone he works in the office with. However, the owner is their boss. I also just learned that the seller used to work in a marina, not a bad thing. I spoke with him again on the phone and he had no problem with going out for a float and to run the engine. Although this is seems a little strange my hopes are still up. If all goes well I'll have my own money pit in a few weeks. Cory
  7. Wow you guys are great! I was suspicious of the battery placement and sloppy wiring too, as well as weight distribution. Fingers crossed, I hope everything checks out and I have a new boat with some fun projects. Is taking the engine to a shop my best bet on finding out about the compression and engine quality? At those places I always worry about them selling my own shirt back to me. Thanks for the help everyone. Cory
  8. Thanks for the good advice everyone. I didn't know what would be a good offer without being rude. If everything runs like he says, this is the one for me. HPBB: what is comp? I will have to start reading up on my aluminum and SS props. I spoke with the seller on the phone today and he wasn't overly friendly or mean and he seemed pretty straight forward. I'm going to bring a friend who has a lot more boating experience with me to check it out. Thanks again and I'll say if I buy or not. Oh, and does anyone know how reliable/unreliable the older evinrudes are?
  9. This is 14' or 16' - 1981 - make unknown 1981 - 70 hp evinrude 36 or 40 lb thrust johnson TM - Eagle Super ID fish finder, seller didn't know off hand what model and I can't tell from the pictures Live well and bilge pump Two new batteries Seller claims: Both engines run well All electronics work No leaks Someone removed the prop, I don't know if it was stolen or moved to another engine, but he claims it wasn't due to damage. Last used last year. He is asking $ 2000 for everything This would be my first "real" boat. Thank you for the input.
  10. Isn't that the truth with anything new?
  11. Nice fish! 8-)
  12. I like all of blizzards games. Isn't starcraft 2 coming out soon?

Maybe it's easier to become a red light angler in Spain?
  14. Jerkbaits work well in both muddy and clear water and are a great choice for the fall.
  15. I used to play mechwarrior 3, so good! Have you played Neverwinter Nights? I'm pretty sure it's the Baldur's Gate sequel. They're both fun.
  16. My roommate is going to be Bob Ross the Happy Painter from PBS. Which I think is awesome, I don't think I can compete with that.
  17. FPS shooters are my favorite! Right now I'm rockin with a 360 and putting in quality time on xbox live playing halo 3. I played Halo 2 pretty competitively, even went to a nation tournament over this summer ( yeah I'm just that dorky!) I haven't played PS3 or PS2 for that matter so can't comment on their games. Right not H3 is dominating my gaming time. Bioshock is a lot of fun too. Shadowrun and rainbow 6 vegas have a serious online scene too. In Halo 3 I'm usually looking to play 4v4 and 2v2 custom games. MLG stuff. I can't wait for a patch and some new maps. GT: Northskool
  18. Leatherman multi toooooooool. Pulls hooks out of fish. Pulls hooks out of me.
  19. RoadWarrior: "Hmm... Alot of guys whose opinions I value HIGHLY recommend Owner hooks. Even though I am 100% satisfied with Gamakatsu, XPoints and VMC, I'll give Owners a shot sometime." The owner Rig'n hook might be a good place to start. It works well for both trig and wacky. Owner twist locks are top notch too! (and top dollar )
  20. 1/2 or smaller: shorten mine to just enough to cover the hook point and at an angle with the short side on top. heavier than that and it's usually going in the nasty so I don't trim anything. swing away
  21. Way to represent!
  22. small- X-rap husky jerks 10 and 12 and pointer 100
  23. This summer 3-4 times a week. Mostly after work in a little jon boat with an electric motor. The two lakes that I fished the most were close by. One is 15 minutes and the other is 2 minutes. Now that I'm back at college there isn't a lot of time or near by places to fish. I try to go once a week, usually making a day trip on sundays.
  24. When your girlfriend immediately sits down when you enter any fishing department.
  25. I'm all for trying new techniques and lures too. The best fish of the trip isn't always the biggest!
