  1. 6" Huddleston. Dont go cheap with swimbaits, it will end up costing you money in the long run. From what I have read, th echeaper swimabits tend to roll over on retreive. I have just started using the HUD, but have yet to catch anything on it. 6" Lunker Punker in rainbow trout isnt a bad option either.
  2. Great news! I sent mine in on the last day of the promotion.
  3. I will check at my local Dicks this weekend too. If they have it I will pick you up a couple.
  4. Yeap. I have 4 lunker punkers. 3 Jr. Lunkers and 1 full size lunker. You can get slightly blemished puinkers right now for 40% off at BlackDogs website. I picked up a few and the blemishes are hardly noticable. Nothing you wouldnt have a time or two after using these giants. The action on these lures are really nice and create a huge wake. But be prepared to have a rod that can handle them. They say the Jr is 6" long, but it is more like 7". The 9" lunker is HUGE. It drawfs any lure I have ever used (although I am new to swimbaits) I typically use the 6" punker. You will need a dedicated swimbait rod to handle these monsters. The 6" weighs ~3oz and the 9"~4oz. My rod is weighted upto 6oz and handles the Lunker well. I will be trying out the Black Dog Shellcracker this weekend. I have offically bought into the swimbait craze. I have been buying a couple swimbaits every week and my wallet is starting to feel it. And I thought Lucky Crafts were expensive!
  5. Love these lures. Hope you picked up one in Ghost Minnow. GHost Minnow is the best color for clear water IMO.
  6. 10" power worm in Red Shad, Tequilla Sunrise or Black Fleck. This is my main summer pattern at night for quality fish.
  7. I just bought some Mattlures today (blue gill and baby bass) to go with my new swimbait setup. I am looking forward to seeing some results.
  8. I would suggest getting a MHF rod to help drive the hook through the plastic or tex-pose the hook. Just my two cents.
  9. I would perfer to buy all the above at one store to save on shipping. I have found a place called swimbaitcity that seems reasonable. *** does not sell Huddleston.
  10. Could someone tell me where I can get the best prices on swimbaits?
  11. I am a big fan of Normans DD22, but not so much of the Middle N. Had a few that had major tuning problems out of the box and never had much success with them. Maybe it was user error.
  12. I really like this line. Very managable.
  13. I use the Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 on a lot of my setups. It is great. Add KVD line conditioner and the line becomes really manageble. I was absolutely blown away by the KVD line conditioner. I was skeptical, but it really does work and helps a ton.
  14. I have 10 or so of these spinnerbaits and never had a problem. 1/2oz white/red colorado blade is my goto spinnerbait.
  15. I am looking at purchasing a Legend Elite 6'8" MXF. Is this rod a softplastic rod? Or can I use it as a topwater rod as well? I noticed that the LTB series makes a topwater rod that is 6'8"MXF so I was wondering what application I could use the Legend eltie for. Thanks.
  16. Are the Amber Lens better than the blue?
  17. I have killed them on the SK red eye shad. Never had an eye fall off. The only problem I have is losing traps on a snag.
  18. I use my high speed for these applications. Frogs/jigs in heavy cover, lipless cranks, and spinnerbaits/buzzbaits.
  19. Where will you be using the rod? If it is around docks I would go with the 6'6". If you want to use this in open water where long cast are required go with the 7'.
  20. I have both and I would go with the MG. The key being the MG throws light lures better than the Curado, IMO. I was fishing in windy conditions this weekend and I had no problem casting a 1/8oz rigged wacky worm with the MG. You can also have a new MG delivered to your door for around $210 on ebay.
  21. Nice to hear! I struck out with them this weekend. Cant recall too many times that has happened.
  22. I dont think it is the hook. I have a few of the jerkbaits you describe. The hook on these Megabass Itos are the sharpest hooks I have ever used. The barbs are also on the outside. If a fish so much breathes on the lure it is hooked. I havent had a problem with the hookup or fish throwing the lure. I use fiberglass, but I am not sure this makes that much of a difference with jerkbaits. Perhaps some of our jerkbait experts can comment.
  23. I agree with other posters 10" Power Worm is a great summer time pattern especially at night. I have a lot of confidence in this presentation. Even the smaller fish will inhale it.
