  1. Speaking of Quantum look on ebay for the tour edition reel at 130 bucks instead of 240. But that reel really wasn't worth 240 anyways This is a great save and will give you the taste of higher end reels for a cheaper price. IMO this reel is not as good as the E7s or but will let you get a feel for better stuff. Also depending on what you think is cheap E21 carrot sticks is another fantastic buy. Super light, comfortable reel seat and a good stick. Maybe not as sensitive as higher priced rods but still a nice price I think your fishing is your fishing and higher priced stuff will make it much more enjoyable. But buying solid rods and reels will make your fishing better from a functional sense. trying to "get away" with something like buying a cheap 30 buck baitcaster or cheap rod will not help your fishing. Plus you can find deals and a lot of awesome stuff is pretty reasonable.
  2. Nice Fish, even nicer lake!! Is that a bunch of lily pads fenced off in the water? That place is too cool!
  3. hmmmm apocalypse good bait ;D Let me guess the other 3 Lunker Punker, Strike King King Shad, Bettencourt Bluegill ;D ;D
  4. Sounds fun, loosen up the tension knob and practice and you will be able to chuck that Ika pretty far.
  5. I have that exact same worm and color. It is a dead ringer. Never liked them, too much tail not enough room to bury a big hook in it. Yet some of the sizes go up to 8 inches and you can only put like a 3/0 hook in it. There are much better worms out there IMO
  6. You make a good point, But have you tried to exchange a rod from them muddy? They are very nice Let me say that I have broken my fair share of rods from abuse and have taken it like and man and bought new stuff. You will not find me passing off a broken tip as a bass fight gone wrong. I was just pointing out the best warranty out there
  7. I have been around those parts before. Your mascot wouldn't happen to be the Shorebirds? Shore fishing is at it's best in a small farm pond
  8. fast is a pretty general action Extra fast is great for soft plastics
  9. I handlined a 11lb4oz bass using 65lb Sufix braid. No cuts. Rod also broke at the handle when I set the hook. Straight braid, a buttoned drag and a fish that big, if you really lean into her, somethings gotta give. Yeah I do not know why people think heavy braid cuts you. I handle 65lb+ braid alot and do not get cut at all. Now the lighter braid like 20lb test will slice right through you. On the return stuff topic I think any damaged gear should be taken directly to the maker. Usually they are happy to replace it even if your at fault. Also I think lifetime warranties like Shimano's(rods) applies to any way it is broken you get a free one, no fraud needed there.
  10. hmmmmm Baby Wake and Mission fish wonder who you've been talking to ;D Solid fish!
  11. Fished a frog this weekend temps 35-50, caught one 4-4.5 but I waited til afternoon to fish it (warmer) and I used a Gambler Cane toad. Soft plastic frogs will increase your hook-up percentage tremendously. You just have to reel very slowly...... Like Bassfinatic said when its cold try a frog, then switch to a trickworm with a 1/16 oz weight. I did a lot better with the trick worm, and I was fishing the same conditions you were Potomac bass only windier
  12. I think the length will be fine for her. But if you want to be sure you can go down to a 6' spinning rod medium power fast action. Easily throws wacky rigged worms etc. etc.
  13. But you were actually alive when the shows I mentioned aired, yet I seriously doubt you know anything/little about them. It would seem you have the pop culture knowledge of a middle schooler not me. That I was in middle school 3 years ago is even more embarrassing to you. : I won't trouble you with the details of those shows, but you can shoot me a pm with a review about Wild Hogs, it sounds like your kind of movie from the commercials If your watching Sons of Anarchy you must have all the time in the world ;D By the way Tin, Dennis Leary stole his entire stand-up act from the late Bill Hicks. He should not have his own show in the first place. I would love to see him lose it.
  14. I have a thing for Matt Le Blanc I also have VHS copies of The Great Defender and "Greatest American Hero" tv show. Of course your not old enough to remember those just "google" it: call me when your done watching shows for middle schoolers and I'll send you them, real funny stuff : ;D Oh by the way I saw your avatar I love the English Patient "Sarah Connor I am a friend can I see her please" Fantastic movie did not know alot of guys were into that movie :-?
  15. Not as well as a t-rig but can still work unless it is scumy grass.
  16. No it is a tapered 5 inch slim senko Any way you rig it you will catch fish.
  17. If you like that I have a couple seasons of Joey, do you want me to send them to you? : ;D
  18. HAHAHAHA Yeah eight days late, did not see the date until now. ;D
  19. I like how I catch you on a few mistakes in a previous post and you ignore it. Then someone else makes a mistake and your all over him. The guy is also serving our country, can't you cut him some slack? : : : :-X
  20. Trick worm or fluke split shotted.
  21. "What games are you watching????" The fixed ones NBA is entertainment, a show. College basketball is much more exciting IMO.
  22. I really do not think that is the proper saying. I think it is "the cat's meow". But even then I think that is a pre-great depression term, so your over 80 years outdated :-/
  23. Small craft advisory that day?
  24. This guy knows how it is done. those hooks were pratically made for frog fishing. Really is as long as a 6/0 hook, it has extra long bite(long hook point), and is heavy wire. I do not like this hook for other applications, because it is difficult to properly hook other plastics. But for hooking toads it is PERFECT. Also just using a 5/0 EWG hook will not cut it! You need at least 5/0 heavy wire hook. Like a gamakatsu superline hook(ewg or straight shank), but again this is the bare minimum. I only use a super deep throat 5/0 or a 5/0 gamakatsu monster(style) hook for frogging and any other soft plastics under 6 inches Oh and Like Bass Finatic said, all toads flip over get used to it. I love a Gambler Cane Toad. It doesnt have a thick body so a hook slot is not nessacary. This makes this toad work perfectly right side up or right side down, and has a better hook-up ratio. The cane toad is also much cheaper.
  25. Oh so the 9 pound bass out of there werent just flukes Way to go to work Mud
