Switch to a moderate or mod-fast rod and you will lose less fish.
  2. Talon Hardball Finesse Jig.
  3. Sunline FC Sniper and Trilene 100% are both very good.
  4. They work all year long, not just during the spawn. I use them on a Carolina or split shot rig throughout the entire spring and summer.
  5. BPS just puts them on sale a couple of times per year.

The Squad Minnow jerkbaits are some of the best out there. I also like the Girons, and like you said, the Flick Shake worms in the 4.8" and 5.8" sizes.
  7. I switched to Owner recently and I'm going to stick with them. Gamakatsu makes good hooks but the points on their EWGs seemed to roll often.
  8. So using a spinning reel instantly makes you a better fisherman? :-?
  9. You could either quit using live bait or catch your own.
  10. Costa Del Mar Fathoms. You can get them for around $100 if you shop around online.

    Awesome fish.
  12. You guys are missing the point of the tru tungsten, its supposed to be tiny. Not everyone can afford to buy a whole separate combo for swimbaits. The tru tungsten is meant to be thrown on a regular crankbait rod. Some people just don't have or want to spend the money for a rod that can throw baits over an ounce. So that's why it is so small. But if it is so tiny, it defeats the purpose of actually being a swimbait (to catch larger than average fish).
  13. It's probably just the scale. I weigh fish the same way and it works fine.
  14. Use circle hooks. You will save a lot of fish.

I just got a #2 cut today. My head feels much lighter.
  16. St Croix Avid 5'0" UL power fast action.
  17. Another vote for the GYCB Flappin' Hawg.
  18. Bobby's Perfect Frog.
  19. That's a good deal. I would buy several.
  20. Lucky Craft Zoom
  21. x2 I fish the Flappin' Hog as a jig trailer and the Kreature on a Texas rig.
  22. Lake Norman only has Spots and Largemouths. All of the other lakes you listed have smallmouths though. I have never fished Norman but I was going of of this site that talks about the species found in Lake Norman when I was thinking about planning a trip there. I'm not sure how they obtained this info. http://www.denvernc.com/fishspecies.htm I think they are referring to the Smallmouths in Lake James when they say "The Principle Fish of Lake Norman and the Catawba Chain". (Lake James is part of the Catawba Chain of lakes).
