  1. Try a small buzzbait or a trick worm rigged weightless for the shallow bass. Cast a good distance past where you have seen them so the splash of your lure doesn't cause them to spook. Those are probably Grass Carp. They are very common in the ponds around here and can grow to be huge. You can catch them on bread balls rigged on a circle hook.
  2. Saltwater: Redfish Flounder Speckled Trout Spanish Mackerel Freshwater: Bass Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout Catfish
  3. There aren't any in Norman. Only Largemouth and Spotted Bass.
  4. Yes. If it swims, a bass will eat it.
  5. If you really want to spend the cash, try out a G Loomis GLX. I have one and it is the most sensitive rod I've ever used. If not, Avids are great rods and are a good bit cheaper.
  6. I had my best day of the year so far on the 4.8" Flick Shake last Saturday. I caught 18 bass in about one and a half hours, and only used three worms. The plastic is soft, but they hold up to a lot of fish as long as the bass doesn't throw the worm while jumping. Use the lightest jighead you can get away with.
  7. Sufix Elite. It's stronger but still casts very well.
  8. Try an LC Pointer 65: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewluckycraftpointer65sp.html
  9. I agree with this. I would take Cabelas if I had to pick one. BPS is my last resort option.
  10. I use a Symetre 750 (last year's model) on my UL Avid rod. It's an excellent reel with a smooth drag (very important on an UL reel). I got it new for $50 on closeout.
  11. 6' Roboworm Straight Tail.
  12. Avoid Berkley Vanish like the plague. My favorites are Trilene 100% and Sunline FC Sniper. InvizX is also good.

  15. Maybe the fish weren't buried in heavy cover?
  16. It took 2 days.
  17. Flickshaking has become one of my favorite techniques. It's a great finesse method.

I think the Sammy has a more erratic action than the Spook, but you do have to fish it slower to keep it walking. My favorite is the Gunfish, you can fish it fast and it spits up a lot of water.

  22. Zoom's "Watermelon Magic" is my favorite.
  23. Looks like a gimmick.
