  1. The Lobina Rico in the Bluegill color.
  2. 5:8:1 seems to be perfect for me. A slower ratio provides more torque.
  3. Use the weights without inserts. The inserts in tungsten weights that have them are covering up rough edges, which will often become exposed and fray your line.

    Kentucky already lost....
  5. They better sell a lot of rooms each night. Dubai is billions of dollars in debt....
  6. Some fishermen base way too many decisions on what the "pros" are using. Skimping on hooks to save 40 cents doesn't make much sense to me either.
  7. I went to private school for 7 years and have been in public schools for the last 4. There was very little economic and ethnic diversity in the private school I attended, which is obviously very different form the real world. I do not feel that the private schools provided any educational benefits for me. I actually feel that I am being educated better in public school, since there are more opportunities to take part in advanced classes. I would have preferred to have attended public schools since kindergarten. It is easier for a kid to adjust to the realities of life when they are younger.
  8. Temple Fork links their name to big names in the fishing industry, like Lefty Kreh and now Gary Loomis, in hopes to sell more rods because of the name written on them. Gary Loomis has very little to do with the rods themselves. Temple Fork's fly rods don't have a great reputation for quality, so a different rod in the $100 range is probably a safer bet.
  9. No season here. I just got back from fishing, and it's 77 degrees today. 8-)
  10. The mid-major conference champions earned their spots in the tournament. I think that they should make bubble teams like Cal and Florida play in the play-in game. It doesn't seem fair that a team like Winthrop, who actually won their conference, doesn't get to play in the real tournament while mediocre teams from the big 6 conferences do.
  11. For fishing small tubes, worms, and other soft plastics, I use 6 or 8 pound fluorocarbon. For treble hook lures and small spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, 8 or 10 pound monofilament is perfect for mountain river smallmouths.
  12. High Rock Lake is great and nearby.
  13. The ACC tournament is usually a tough win for any team. Duke has gone out early the last couple years, hopefully this year they will make it far.
  14. Flounder and Yellowfin Tuna.
  15. Some days the Pointer is better, and some days the X-Rap is better. I seem to have more success with the Pointer, but that doesn't mean I will only carry Pointers. You're limiting yourself if you don't have both available.
  16. Lucky Craft Pointer Jackall Squad Minnow
  17. It's a custom painted Daiwa Pixy.
  18. I use the Xtools, it's accurate and hasn't let me down.

The Sand Flea, Sweet P, and Z-Flat are all great crankbaits.
  20. There will probably be a 100 size Curado E released at ICAST, since Shimano Japan released a JDM version earlier this year.
  21. These are the general rules I follow: cool and muddy: tight wiggle, with rattle cool and stained: tight wiggle, without rattle cool and clear: tight wiggle, without rattle These are by no means set in stone, often times the bass don't follow the "rules" and you have to change things up to catch them.
  22. The H2O lures are not made by Lucky Craft (but that doesn't mean that they aren't good lures).
  23. I think the Ricos are worth the price. I catch many more bass on Ricos than I did when I fished Pop-Rs. You have a very slim chance of losing them since they are topwaters. I have been fishing one particular Rico for three years.
