Hummin bird 3D users
Can you elaborate? I didn't see anything on the Lowrance website. I've used the new Humminbird, and I thought the 3D view was cool. Will it be available for my Lowrance 5300? I'm talking about the GPS nav, not the sonar, obviously...

Cost of your fishing trips ???
Depends on where I go. I have some good choices nearby, and luckily my boat sips gas (Merc 4 stroke 40). Guntersville - $60 Pickwick(@Waterloo) - $25 Wilson - $15 Pickwick(@McFarland) - $10 tops Cypress Creek(wading) - $3 8-) I hope to add Wheeler and the Bear Creek Lakes to my rotation this year, should be equiv. to the Pickwick @ Waterloo outings.

Shoes
Whatever is on my feet at the time. I used to have a pair of Solomon Aquamphibians. Best shoes ever, but the puppy liked them more than me. Here lately it's been my house slippers, because they're so warm and comfy.

Brake question
;D Yeah, that knob is something else.

Big Worms, Need Help
In my big worm bag I have Zoom Ol' Monster, Zoom Mag II, Culprit 10" and 12", and some 10" Power worms. The Power worms seem harder than the Zoom, so I primarily use the Zoom. I don't like much getting in the way of the hook.

Bionic blade rods from BPS
Like other BPS offerings, they are great when you can pick them up on sale, which happens regularly. I have one Bionic Blade for c-rig, and I like it just fine. I don't see much difference between it and the 2, more expensive Extreme rods I have. Go for it!

Make me change to floro line
Huh? I read the article, and they said it was "good bordering on great." What turned you off of it?

Brake question
The track is shaped like a cone. Every minute movement of the knob either makes the effective diameter of the track larger or smaller, depending on which way you turn the knob. One could also argue that there are an infinite amount of settings between each click. Are these differences that noticeable? Doubt it, but it's a fact, and makes for good marketing.

Brake question
Actually those drums have heavy grease on them to hold parts in the assembly processes. Also the tabs are not plastic they are a nylon and it takes a butt load of spin to were them out. But your right it doesn't take much to slow a spool down when it is properly setup... Just my .02¢ Cool, thanks!

Brake question
9 brakes, yes. 9 clicks, yes. 9 settings, no. It's not called Infinite ACS for nothing.
-
Brake question
The stuff that comes on the Quantum drum is quite thick, so I clean it off and put on a lighter oil that's less likely to get gummy or gunked up. It doesn't take much to slow down a spool to keep it from backlashing, I'd think a dry system would stop the spool too fast, and wear out the plastic brakes prematurely.
-
Brake question
They come from the factory that way. Also the newer Quantums don't have 9 settings, it's a cone that moves in and out, so it's actually infinite, although the clicker might only click that many times. Never counted. I do wish they'd re-design the knob to make it easier to make fine adjustments...

Handheld GPS???
+1 I think the self imposed kick should be from buying it at bass pro. Unless you had a gift card, a simple Google product search would have revealed sites selling them NEW for as little as 125! I got mine for 139 last year by searching this way.

Skeet Reese Edition Abu REVO!!!
The sad thing is I'd probably buy one 8-) You mean TWO, right?

Well, using the inch increments on the ruler to draw a rough guess of how long the ruler is, I come up with exactly 25 inches. Now what? Nice fish is what!

How long do you give a lure before switching to the next?
Depends. Some days I'll throw the boat at them, while others, I've fished all day with one lure. I usually don't give hard baits long to do their thing, but I'll go all day with a shaky head or brush hog waiting for a bite.

MAN UP!!! Fine, if you think smearing dodo on peoples upper lips is cool, then that's cool. I'm just a guy with an opinion, and I'm not selling out to catch a fish. Assumingly, you posted here because you are looking for opinions or suggestions to your problem. I already gave you mine. If you have a problem w/ their advertising, don't buy their product. You said, "Why risk so much on this type of image?". It's called target marketing. In fact, I just placed an order for some of their sweet beavers. So, in essence, you just helped promote and sell something you are completely against. Have a nice day No, I posted to express my opinion. I don't have a "problem." I am fully capable of making purchasing decisions on my own, and I take pride that I am picky where my money goes. It's my own little vote on what I think is good.

Well, it's still a double edged sword. As mentioned, he'll never get a major pro to put their name behind these things. Of course, with enough buzz, he probably won't need a big name anyway.
