  1. You must shop at Sam's / Costco. ;D
  2. What brand? I guess that's the more common way to do it. I'll have to raid some from the restaurant at the golf course...
  3. I use a cheaper brand of these - http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=30021&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults They work great. The ones I buy have more in the pack for less money... I can't remember the brand, but most tackle shops should have them.
  4. Nothing is added. It's just a different type of plastic. Polypropylene is worm proof I believe, where PETE is not. You shouldn't have to worry about any modern tackleboxes being wormproof...
  5. A 1973 Grumman aluminum canoe. I consider it my first boat, since it was fully rigged with TM, electronics, running lights, rod holders, seats, Georgia registration, and I built a custom trailer for it. I still have it, but it's stripped of everything for creek use. Congrats on your first boat! 8-)
  6. The one I saw at dicks looked pretty nice. I thought about getting it for when I wade the creek.
  7. I was taking some pics of trailer hooks for the trailer hook thread, and I thought I'd take some pics of a simple mod I do to my shaky heads. The one on the left is unmodified, the one on the right I clipped off most of the spring with my needlenose pliers and angled it toward the point of the hook. I've had better luck getting the worm rigged in a more natural manner this way. Also look at the increased gap between the screw and the hook point. That can only help, I think. Sorry it's so blurry, the batteries died in my good camera, so I just used my fishing camera...
  8. Just to clear up some confusion some may have about how you actually use the surgical tubing, I took some (blurry) pics... Here's everything laid out... Slip the tubing over the eye of the trailer hook in this fashion... To attach the trailer, punch through the tubing, going through the eye, then back out the other side of the tubing. The hook will absolutely not go back over the barb unless you really want it to. As a bonus, the trailer is supported so it hangs straight back, where it won't tangle during a cast... I just thought I'd clear this up, since I've seen people putting the tubing on after the hook, through the hole, where it can fall off easily.
  9. I've looked all around town (Dick's, Gray's, and Wal-Mart) and none of them carry Yo-Zuri. Looks like an order from BPS, but it sure seems a waste to pay 3.95 shipping on a 7.99 spool of line. :
  10. Boyd says they're so sensitive, he can drag a worm over a beer can and tell you what brand it is. :
  11. Well, it already did. He got DQ'ed in the Semis in his rematch against Duckett for making a cast with 6 fish in the well.
  12. Looks nice, I may have to leave mine in the rain, so I can tell my wife I "NEED" one of those. ;D
  13. Texas rigged baby brush hog in pumpkinseed.
  14. Why can't they stay puppies?
  15. This thread is useless without pictures Good going RW
  16. That's pretty stout. 8-)
  17. I think they're $12 now. As far as the guy I know without one, he's been caught and ticketed before. I don't know what his problem is. It's just an attitude some people have like grimlin mentioned.
  18. Who here has a lifetime license(s)? I was going to get one for Alabama, since I think it's good even if you eventually move out of state. Since I'm a Georgia boy at heart, I may end up moving back one day, and the lifetime would have paid for itself in short order. That all went in the crapper when they just raised the price from $150 to $250 last month. Got me thinking about how many guys out there have the lifetime. I only know one guy who has one. On the other side of the coin, do you guys know of anyone who blatantly refuses to carry a license at all? I know a guy who does not carry one, and considers himself an avid fisherman. I should whop him in the back of the head one good time...
  19. Sure you should say something. Inform them of the law, and let them make their own decision from there. Gets rid of the "I didn't know" excuse, which isn't really a valid excuse anyway. Reminds me of a situation I ran into on Wilson this spring. I cross paths with a boat fishing the same stretch of bank, and the guy on the TM says "we're trying to catch a cooler full, do you know what the limit is? Got a 5 pounder in there, but been throwing back anything under 15 inches to be safe." Now of course I know that there is no longer a size restriction on Wilson for LM, but I didn't want this guy emptying out my favorite cove. Plus, what's the point of telling me he's going to eat what he percieves to be a 5 pounder, besides ticking me off. So, I just reply "I don't know man, I just throw them all back." What's so hard about figuring out the legal length / limit for a lake before you fish it? Don't even get me started on people who don't bother to buy fishing licenses either...
  20. Nevermind, saw your post upstairs. That had to hurt. :'(
  21. Very nice BASS Fisherman! I hope to fish Erie or St. Clair one day. Or both. For more than one day. ;D
  22. Holy smokes! It took me a while to realize that your dad's boat wasn't camo! The reflection of the grass was so clear!
  23. Those are absolutely beautiful fish! I hope to get a few of my own this fall...
  24. Ouch. You gonna send it back? Or was it a custom...
