  1. I'm an Asst. Golf Pro. I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I'm 27 and married, but by no means grown up. :-X
  2. Well, looks like Low Budget Poster beat me to it!
  3. There, fixed that for you! ;D I would ask if it has become just a job, or if they are still thrilled to death each morning when they wake up. I used to jump out of bed to get to work when I first became a golf pro. Now I absolutely dread going in.
  4. Wow, looks like you put a ton of work (and cash) into this. Thanks for the info! Can't wait for the videos.
  5. Good times. I never thought I'd have to clarify that!
  6. Those are colors. Not lure types. It's different I guess, and that's important in the endless sea of soft plastics. I'm not going to boycott their products or anything, shoot, I plan to pick up a couple of packs of their big mother flipper flipping hooks next time I go to the tackle shop. There just won't be any penetration or dirty sanchez on my boat.
  7. I only have the clear lipped lc's. Are the opaque ones made from a different material? Perhaps those are more brittle.
  8. Where does this company get off naming it's lure colors white trash, penetration, and dirty sanchez? I'm young and quite liberal, but I am still put off by this. If you don't know what a dirty sanchez is, don't look it up at work, shoot, you're better off not looking it up at all really. I don't know, I'm sure that the owner is a great guy, but why risk so much on this type of image?
  9. I caught my biggest bass at night last year. I live up the hill from Pickwick, so I'll go down and fish from 10 to midnight just for kicks. Here's a pic.
  10. Mine has been in the boat before, but she went nuts every time I'd cast. Rat terriers aren't just going to sit still very often. I do take her to the creek though when I'm wading for smallies...
  11. Sounds like you don't really want it. If this is the case, take it back while you can and get what you want. If you don't buy what you want now, you will later. Might as well apply this money toward it. If you don't believe me, you welcome to come over and look at all the crap I've bought hastily, and quickly outgrew. Talk about a waste! :-X
  12. She's a beauty! Way to go on the new PB.
  13. Jan 16. 7" worm on a shaky head. In the snow...
  14. Dang, as usual there's more to it than appears at first glance. This is great information, and very helpful. Thanks guys!
  15. Ok, so part of the allure of making your own jigheads is the savings (eventually, I guess, if you make enough). So, are you guys buying lead? Or are you scavenging wheel weights and various other scraps?
  16. It's certainly more economical, 'tis what I use. But, for whatever reason, it's hard to find the round splitshot around here (no removal tabs or "ears" to hang on things).
  17. I have a St. Croix AVID AS70MF. The reel is spooled up with 8lb mono, that has only and will only be used for 1/8oz and 3/16oz shaky heads. I've caught several 5+ pound drum (sheephead) on accident, so I can tell you this rod has enough backbone to slam the hook home and get her in the boat! My drop shot/split shot(live bait) rod is a St. Croix Premier PS66MF. I absolutely love this rod! I got it off Muddy for almost nothing, and would have bought another if not for being able to get that Avid NEW for under $100.
  18. With the temperature in the 30's, I'm casting my net for shad, trolling around in search of them. After I fill my bucket I hop into the drivers seat and fire up the big motor and take off. WATER WAS FLYING EVERYWHERE! I was absolutely drenched at this point wondering what the heck was going on, and I kill the motor only to discover that I'D LEFT THE TROLLING MOTOR DOWN!!!
  19. I foul hooked several threadfin shad this year pulling lures through schools of them. Smallest legal fish wasn't too much bigger than the jitterbug he hit. Crazy smallmouth.
  20. If I'm in my boat, I'll have 6-9 rods on deck depending on the season. If I'm in someone else's boat, I'll carry 3-4. When I wade the creek or bank fish, I only carry 1 rod and a couple of lures in a ziploc baggie in my pocket. I do not like carrying things around with me since I tend to wander off.
  21. Tennis is great. Majors, of course, are the best to watch, especially for casual fans since the coverage is so extensive and in depth. I go to the RMK Championships in Memphis, and it's unreal to see top pros in action. Tennis is the only other sport I'll wake up early to participate in.
  22. Suffix Elite for Mono 8lb for my spinning gear, 12lb for casting. Power Pro in 30lb for my braid needs, spinning and casting.
  23. Just an "Ummmphh!" as I set the hook.
  24. No, I caught it on the main lake, but took the pic at a buddy's dock (Not on Donegan, but close!). It was pouring down rain when I landed him, so I brought him back for a pic, then let him go.
