  1. My friend told me to use split shot weights as drop shot sinkers? Why? I use the kind of weights where you just pin the line in the needle like hole.
  2. I caught a big fish in the lily pady on a topwater, but I get snagged a lot. Are there ways to make you top waters weedless, or are there weedless topwaters, besides the plastic frogs, rats, floting worms... I want to be able to use a propbait or chugger. ???
  3. Get some senkos and fish them wacky if you can.
  4. Of course they do. I think that one of the best cover to look for.
  5. I don't think they've gotten smaller, just not as much fish and they don't like to bite as much as they use to.
  6. Maybe it was just that day.
  7. I use any color hook, I don't see any difference. I use a 3/o hook, I rig it weedless and try not to use wieghts. I do a weak jerk retrive.
  8. I went fishing yesterday and caught spawning fish in 63' f water.
  9. Yeah me, I've never got my tacklebag and my monthly mag. they said in my membership package in the mail thing thqat they were a little slow and they would give it to me later in my life. :'(
  10. Fish finders are useless for finding fish. It's good for finding the depth and bottom structures. Live bait is not cheating, it's a skill and you just need to know how and when to use them. You don't just let it sit there. It can be very productive too.
  11. I really don't know what to say... It should work with the improved clinch knot. I go salmon fishing using 30 pound test and never had this problem. Try leaving more line at the end of the knot and don't cut the access line to close to the knot, leave about half an inch. If you still can't get the line all the way tight, try the buzzbomb knot. It is a preety good knot, but not as good as some of the other ones you could be tieing. Or you could try buying new line.
  12. Nick I totaly know what you mean. Just the thought of it makes me angry.
  13. I'd catch one ten, just so I could take a picture and brag to all my fishing friends, besides you don't catch 10 pounders that often in Washington.
  14. That's nice.. I've never caught that big of a bass. I've seen some swim right under my dock and bounced the hook on top of its head and it wouldn't move or bite. Just slowly swam on. Probably a 10 lbs, maybe the fish hate me. :'(
  15. Wow. That's great! I really like this site.
  16. I say trebles are equal to a single hook, sometimes they can be a pain in the butt to get out.
  17. I take my friends out fishing and have a great time, never not caught a fish, fishing with my friends. I say it's because they're with me and beginers luck. ;D
  18. I like to go really small, never had a problem with it. Just make sure you don't get too big.
  19. I fish in a lake where there are a whole bunch of boats during the summer. It may annoy you, but I don't thick the fish mind.
  20. I live far away from where you live, but the lakes I fish in sound quit similar. I agree, I like to use a blask or dark spinnerbait or a balck rostertail. ;D
  21. The skin on their mouths are so thin, I don't think they nave any nerves to feel the pain, unless you hook it deep or snag it on the side, but not in the mouth.
  22. I heard fishing in the rain can be more productive... Is this true?
  23. Unfortunatly, My Dad and I are like the only folks in my family that fish. So when I'm by myself, thats tough for me... My fishing Uncles live far away from me... :'(
  24. Everything about fishing is skill, when, where, how... The only thing you can't control is... You can't force the fish to bite...
  25. The [glb]Improved clinch knot [/glb]has never broke or slipped on me... It's very reliable, but there are better knots, there is the triline knot which I like, but its to much hastle for something that works just a little better. By the time you do your little [glb][glow=red,2,300]"fancy"[/glb][/glow] knot. The [glb]Lunker Bass [/glb]sw just swam away...
