  1. I too run the inline filter between the seperator and the engine. Never had a problem. I change out the inline filter every six months or so.
  2. The add states it's rated for a 10 hp motor. It is a sweet little rig. I can see a lot of interest in something like this. Bet it would move with one of the three battery 100 TM with a big old prop on it.
  3. Over the last week I have had several pms from members wanting to know why their Lowrance unit was not showing better detail when they installed the Navionics chip or another SD chip they wanted to use.. For everyone that is having problems just follow the following instructions and it should work fine. Slide the tray out. Insert the chip with the connections facing up and close the tray Press the Menu button twice(This will open an expanded menu screen) Using the down arrow button select "System Set Up"(Press Enter) Using the down arrow button select "Transfer My Data"(Press Enter) The "Transfer Data Which Way" screen will appear To transfer data from an MMC card to your unit select the "Load" button on the "Transfer Data Which Way" screen. A "User Data Screen" will appear Click on the open button and your files will appear. Choose one or all the files listed and select "Load Data" Using the down arrow button press enter If done correctly you will receive a message that states "User Data Successfully Loaded" If this is the first time to run a chip: Press Menu, Menu Highlight "Map Data" Highlight "Navionics" This will let your unit know that a Chip is being used. Do not attempt to copy one of these chips on your computer. It has a security feature that will render it useless.
  4. The only problem with the E7 is that you will want more.
  5. I drill a lot of my traps and I can promise you that it makes a difference in clear water when everyone else is throwing the rattling baits. I have caught a ton following behind a few that did not do well when throwing them in an area that is getting pounded.
  6. Agreed that a straight shank hook will have better penetration, but I find myself using the Mustad EWG in 5/0 for most of my plastic combos.
  7. I would call Lowrance. You would think the upgrade would be ready with the other HD units but I just pulled it up and it is not showing available yet.
  8. If you are expecting to just plug it in and go to work it will not happen. Go to: Map Data Select Navionics Select region your lake is in Otherwise you are just projecting off the original map that was loaded from the factory. You have to let the unit know what you want it to do.
  9. FYI, the fifth Share a Lunker from that lake this year was donated to the hatchery yesterday. I believe it weighed 13.78.
  10. Well you have failed to note in your avatar where you are located. How do you expect any of us to answer a question without knowing where you are?
  11. A jig is not about the number of bites you get. It's the quality. To fish a jig you have to commit yourself to five bites a day. If you can get the five bites they generally will kill any other five you weigh on another lure. There are always exceptions, but if I can get them going on a jig I will keep it in my hand all day. Down here if you go out and catch twenty 2 1/2 pounders you still only have 12 1/2 pounds to weigh. Many times three good jig bites will weigh 14-17 lbs. I would much rather give myself a chance with the jig.
  12. I use the Gene Larew Crawworm for most of my trailers. If the water has a little color put a green pumpkin with orange pinchers on a brown jig and give it a try. Works great down here.
  13. The slingshot has been around since the early to mid 90s. I've found that I have other plastics that do a better job for me. JMO.
  14. Some are catching fish on frogs around here now. I prefer to wait until the grass is a little more advanced and inching toward the surface.
  15. Just about any plastic that is not loaded down with appendages. The more attachments the more to catch and drag on the surface.
  16. Cranking a trap until my arm falls off.
  17. I not only like them I hope I have enough to last me until someone buys the mold and continues to produce them.
  18. Never even heard of it. Some, I'm sure will fish it and swear by it. I going to pass. I don't have a problem unhooking it's getting the hook in them at times that I struggle with.
  19. Innovative would be a better word.
  20. Plano boxes, sorted by design, size, and the time of year.
  21. Catt, I hope that was the MOJO you were sending me.
  22. Orange. If you want to get technical Black and white are not colors.
  23. Probably, but the only way to know is to go fish them. Good luck.
