  1. At 7'7" and 500 lbs. he should have big feet. I want one of the smaller ones for a pet.
  2. Oldham trailer hitch jigs.
  3. Try it early, late, and at night.
  4. Cableman, when we were on the phone the other day I asked you to draw in the 15' depth on the map. This is where I would begin my search and work from there. If you draw it in on the flat down toward the dam at Richland Chambers lake it will show the pond dams and other depth changes that we discussed. Barring any cool weather I think you will be fine working the 15-20' levels. Most people will be fishing a c-rig in the area. Do not forget the two pockets above the bridge across from the launch that will be loaded with grass I showed you. Good luck.
  5. Perfect example would be the Wacky Worm.
  6. LBH it gets better. Wait until all your plumbing goes haywire(If you know what I mean).
  7. Hope everything is ok with the boat. Don't put it in reverse and maybe it will solve the problem. LOL. I think it is water over the transom.
  8. Me too. It ain't happening for me this year. Congratulations on a nice fish.
  9. One thing for sure we will never know for certain. I think if in fact that fish was that long he was 9 or better even if he was very skinny. Good fish though.
  10. There's no telling what that fish weighed. I have caught 9 double digit fish in my life and non were that long. My 12.41 was 26 3/4" long.
  11. Unless that bass was very ill it would weigh closer to 11 lbs instead of four. A 28" bass is a very large fish. The Texas Parks and Wildlife length scale for slot lakes will have that fish at about 10.88 lbs.
  12. You do not need the 52" on that tracker.
  13. Good luck and be safe. I'm leaving Saturday morning.
  14. I respool every evening before the next day. I have nine rods in my garage that I have to respool before this saturday's tournament. They were all respooled last Saturday. Plenty to answer your question.
  15. Have you ever been there? I can tell you I have a few times and it is an awsome feeling. I mean being able to call your shot. The last time I was in there was with a crankbait. I almost bet a guy that had just fished a point a hundred bucks that I could catch a solid keeper(2 lbs +) within five cast off the point he just blanked on with a plastic. We did discuss the offer though. I wish I had. I went over to it and caught a 3+ on the second cast with a crankbait.
  16. Welcome, I see you finally found us. Enjoy.
  17. A lot of the lakes here in Texas are overloaded with smaller fish. Parks and wildlife are trying new ideas to get more fishermen to keep the smaller fish. A lot of our lakes need to be culled down so the larger fish have more to eat. They are requesting that we keep a five fish limit under 12" on some of the lakes. I for one never do, but I think it helps keep the population in line. A lot of people on this site are very quick to chastize someone that keeps fish. If it is legally caught you have every right to dispose of the fish in the frying pan. Lake Nacogdoches here in East Texas is a perfect example. It has produced a lot of very large fish. The wildlife department has changed the regulations begining Sept 1 from a 14-21" slot to a 16-24" slot and requesting that as many as possible keep a limit under the 16". One over the 24" can can be kept for weighing to see if it qualifies for the state Share-A-Lunker program(Over 13 lbs.) and if not must be released back into the lake. This lake is absolutely covered up with smaller fish.
  18. I only use a light to tie up a lure or measure a fish.
  19. Remember, you get what you pay for. I'm sure it will do the job for a while. Just not the staying power of the MK or MG. JMO.
  20. That certainly makes sense to me. I have won two of our club tournaments this year on the lake fishing a senko, crawworm and a Lake Fork 7 1/4 ribbed worm in 12-18' water.
  21. This post just taught me more about fishing TB than anything I have ever read. I am not refering just to the deep water either. Thank you Catt.
  22. I backlash them every trip and have for 30 years. Dosen't matter though. Just pull them out and keep on fishing. If it's too bad throw it in the rod box and grab another. What's the deal? Just part of the game.
