  1. You are welcome. There are lots of things you can do to streamline the operation of your unit. Don't try to learn it all. Your brain may explode(LOL). Learn the basics and then expand as you feel the need. If you would like more shortcuts and info to help you just hollar and I will be glad to help. Jack
  2. I got my FLW magazine(Bass Edition) today and there is a very good article about the leading college fishing teams and what each school is doing to promote their programs. If you get a chance go on line or look for it in this months(January-February) issue. The cover has the Murray State University fishing team on it. Jack
  3. No rattles. As far as weight goes it just depends on what the fish want and the type of cover or structure I am fishing.
  4. Check your map Datum. It may be working off NAD 83 instead of the WGS84. It will be listed in the area that shows the list of cordinates. That will make a difference. check if you are reading degrees, minutes, seconds or something other.
  5. Catt, long Mike and I were just on the phone talking about it and he went onto Google Earth and the W93 showed up in the middle of the lake. Not sure what is going on, but somethings not right. I'll try to get to the bottom of it. Is that site working off WGS84 Datum?
  6. The touchscreen bar is on the 8. I found a one month old 8 this morning on another site for 1375.00. It comes with the lake insite and I have made an offer , just waiting on his decision.
  7. Ya'll might want to double check those cordinates. These cordinates just came off my Lowrance unit and they are all over on the west side of the lake. Are ya'll working off a map or a website? All my maps correspond with these figures. Bugg Island: N31 27.150 W93 44.100 Boat Lane/Mouth of Palo Gaucho: N31 25.050 W93 40.200 Carrice Creek Hump: N31 25.050 Here's a hump that always has fish on it. W93 44.580 See where I'm going with this. These are all over on the Texas side. The back end(West) of Housen Bay is going to lie in the W93 50.000 area or close. Draw a straight line across the mouth of Housen through Gilley's point and you are staring at W93 40.780. The W93.63.407 cordinate is going to show up west of Toledo Bend a mile or more(Maybe a lot more) off the West side of the lake. Datum use WGS84 Reading Degrees, Minutes, Seconds Something ain't right. Here's one for you. W94 01.868. This is a hump on Rayburn in Sollie's woods. This W93 63.407 should lie about half way between Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend. Jack
  8. Jig with trailer Senko & Trick Worm Rattletrap Lucky Craft RC 1.5 Spinnerbait
  9. Thanks, I sent you a PM. Jack
  10. Well believe it. I have two left in my tackle bag and have not bothered to even tie one on in over a year. I've got other things that seem to do a better job.
  11. I try to keep it basic. Three to five colors on my plastics and jig trailers. I only fish three colors on my jigs. Brown, Camo, Black/Blue. I have found that these colors will cover most any water combination I fish and I can vary the colors of the trailers to my taste.
  12. All the socks, warmers, and boots out there do a job to an extent. Do not lace the boots (Or anything else you wear) to the top. You need to be able to kick them off your feet if you go in the water. Otherwise they will fill, water log, and help drag you down. If it is just to cold, your better off cutting your day short. Better to be able to fish another day. Jack
  13. I assume that you have told your unit to run the Navionics system. If not, here you go: Check software update: 1. Press Menu 2X 2. go to system setup -Press enter 3. Go to software-Press enter To see if Navionics is turned on: 1. Menu 2x 2. Go to Map Catorgies Drawn-Press enter 3. Make sure Navionics and all sub catorgies have a check or x by them 4. Exit out of all menu options To View Naviopnics: 1. Press Menu 2x 2. Go to Map Catorgies Drawn-Press Enter 3. Make sure all Navionics and all sub catorgies have an x or a check by them 4. Go to Map Choice-Press Enter 5. Go to "Select Desired Chart", chose which file, and press Enter 6. Exit out of all menu screens and "Zoom Out" to view coverage area on the global map 7. Zoom "In" to see chart detail(At least 16 NM) and continue to Zoom IN to see future detail This works on the later Lowrance units such as the 520 and the 522c. I don't own the HDS yet, but was told it will work for the newer units. It's worth a try. If you still have problems, call Navionics at 800 848-5896. Do this while you have access to your unit.
  14. Ya'll are killing me. I cannot get bit on those things. Never, ever had a bite.
  15. PM replied to. did not help.
  16. My wife is beside herself. She had all of her emails from her daughter sitting in her inbox and messed around and lost them all. She has no idea how they disappeared. I have contacted our ISP and they are unwilling to help as we do not have a small business account. Our daughter was lost August 22, 2008 and she is desperate to retrieve them(Most had pictures that she failed to save). If anyone can help I would consider it a great favor and I will include a very nice lure package to you if you can help us out. If you prefer I will pay for your help, your call. We are running XP, and run AT&T (v8.0) for windows. Thanks to anyone and all for your help. Wanda thanks you also. Merry Christmas, Jack If this takes a phone call to us it will be fine to do it collect. I want no one out any money.
  17. Big Game is the only mono I use and have never had that problem. Just like Catt said.
  18. I am on the hunt. Have not found a used unit, but will kepp looking. If I find an extra will let you know. Thanks for all you have done. If you get to this area I would consider it an honor to share a boat with you. Jack
  19. Offshore humps, drains, creeks, roadbeds and Flats that lead to deeper water.Main lake Points, secondary points, and pockets off the river. Anything that shows a change in depth or bottom composition.

Very nice. just shows you that the fish will bite when the cold weather comes to town.
  21. Remember the old saying "A bolt out of the blue". Comes from someone being struck on a clear day. Lightning can travel a long way from cloud to ground. There are many types. If I hear thunder I become very wary. Saw the guy hit in the Rayburn McDonalds tournament out of Jackson Hill Marina last May .Knocked him right out of the boat. Thankfully he survived after a few days in the hospital. It ain't something to mess around with. If your rod buzzes are you notice your mono floating in air instead of falling to the water it's past time to get off the water.
  22. Good ending to a bad story. Thanks for Manning up. I too, would do business with you if the opportunity arises. Jack
