Trailer and Jon bounce like crazy
No need to buy new leafs, take a picture of them from the back side and post it, From the front it looks like three leafs you can take out the second heaviest and that should give you enough flex.

Hull Strake
I agree with Catt, you need to use aluminum dissimilar metals will not bond and lead to corrosion problems for NAVY ships construction they blast the iron and aluminum together to bond at a molecular level. I think you need a Tig welder for aluminum.

Trailer and Jon bounce like crazy
You can get a transom saver for use while towing, also does the axle have leaf springs? how many? You could take one out of the stack on each side to smooth out the ride. When I tow any of my trailers empty they bounce around, not enough weight to load the springs. Can you post Pictures? If you want to go the bigger tire route you will have to move the axle under the leaf springs to maybe clear the fender wells. I think you will still need to play with the leafs though.

How's this Rod/Reel Combination?
You might want to go up to a light pole to give you some options for different lure weights when fishing the intracoastal. Cortland Camo 4-6lb Mono has always worked well for me, I tried a lot of other brands then gave up this week and ordered three service spools from Cortland - low memory and the camo works well in a lot of situations.

Low memory mono?
Thanks for all the replies I have tried the BP 6lb on my spinning reel a Stella 1000 every time I cast it bird nests between the second and third guide, rod is a g-loomis IMX. I just picked up the line last week and I feel like I was robbed. I stripped off twenty feet and tried it again today same thing.
