Be sure insert hook approx. 1/2" deep into nose, then push the nose up over the eye of the hook. With a 4/0 or 5/0 hook the bait should not be stretched at all over the hook. The Shad being stretched after penetrating the back of bait with the hook might cause what you are describing too. Ck it out and I think this should take care of it. Big O www.ragetail.com

If there are straight walls on the side, cast parallel down the edge to find out if the fish are holding close. If they are this pattern simplifies your casting directions and keeps your bait in strike zone most of the time. Big O

Hey Rondef, Glad you're liking the lobster. Received two packs of the "Big Tex" color Lobsters from TW and used them Friday flippin' shallow brush in a lake near my home. Caught 22 fish yet nothing over 4.5 lbs. But my thumbs are raw and my wrist are sore so it was a nice evening for sure. Our fish are definitely movin' back up and getting more active so should be a great Fall fishing season. Big O www.ragetail.com

Although I have caught several of the XL size bass on the Anacondas, I can't say that I have caught more of them on the 10" model.....The 7" model has actually been responsible for half of them. I have run out of the 10 inchers and the 7" model whacks just as many.... I think it has to do with the width of the worm and the overall action which makes it look much bigger in the water than it really is. As usual when it comes to color, different colors seem more effective in different lakes ranging from the varieties of reds to dark greens. I am liking the "Red Bug" on the red side and "Double Header" on the green side. My favorite color to date thus far is Big Tx. Big O www.ragetail.com

Hey Sam, I like ewg's 4/0 and under on the 7" and 5/0 and up on the 10". Also 1/4 oz is standard unless in deeper or windy conditions. Tx. rig and Carolina rig or light keel weighted hook for swimming over grass beds. Might want to ck out the search bar to see others opinions... Hope you whack'em Big O

Although they are both basically topwater buzz style baits, they are very different baits with different appearance and style of action opportunities. A look at the short video links below will help with understanding the difference in action. After you've had an opportunity to fish each of them the difference is much more obvious. For sure the Rage Craw is great as a jig trailer for varying both the length and bulk of a jig which also alters the fall rate etc. The Rage Chunk has a smaller defined body for a lighter more compact presentation yet provides the exact visual action and vibration as the craw. The narrow chunk body allows more distance in the hook gap to assist with hook up ratios which becomes much more evident when using smaller jigs. Hope this info helps you a little tyrius... John, I would have a hard time making a choice between them because confidence in my choice of water and bait selection gives me the patience to work the water completely and correctly. On the other hand, my patience allows me to ck out new water with a variety of bait presentations in order to then gain confidence in this new water or fishing pattern. 2" silver flake single tail grub on light weight jig head or on a 2/0 hook with a 1/8 to 3/16 oz pegged weight 12 to 18" upline. This won't necessarily catch the biggest fish in the lake....but it will catch he fish you are describing. This is one of the main techniques I use to break in young'uns to bass fishing. Find the schoolers and wail on'em. Many pro's keep a light schooly rig like this on the deck at all times. Big O

If the fish are missing the bait or short striking at night, might change to a Rage Shad. It gives you the noise and ruckus of a bigger buzzbait in a weedless 3" soft plastic. With it you have the opportunity to pause at the strike and drop the bait to them. When they mouth the soft plastic they are much more likely to hold on so that you get a good hook set. Big O
